As for buying a plot with the intent to sell it, there are ways to find out by looking at the comportment and account activity. It can time consuming though and certainly not a priority.

Also, even if the TOS would say you can’t transfer a house for gils, it would’t be “illegal”. It would merely be a breach of a contractual provision between you and SE not something forbidden by law.

Yes not a 'law breaking' offense of course, but they've outlined it in the TOS. Not to mention, they have a clause that lets them basically enforce it how they want. Selling houses for these astronomical amounts were addressed like 5-6 years ago?
