If the current glamour system isn't good, why to do so many people seem to revel in using it?
Why do they spend millions of gil on glamour items -- some costing more than top-end crafted raid gear?
Glamour is probably the most popular mini-game in FFIXIV.
The people who crafted it are probably very happy with how it has been accepted by the player base.
As they should be, IMO.
Every objective indication flies in the face of your opinion that it isn't "good."
Accordingly, the odds SE will "re-work" the system, as some people here want, are slim to none.
And I'm fine with that.

People do not revel in the glamour system, they revel in the gorgeous designs and the positive feedback loop of their own creativity. The glamour system holds back and complicates this process.
This is such a weird angle. People are going to work with the system that is provided by the game. That's it. Are we supposed to refrain from glamouring anything if we're unhappy with it?If the current glamour system isn't good, why to do so many people seem to revel in using it?

Curious, but have you ever played a game that has unlocked glams, or a proper fashion log, or a game that lets you dye all gear (and with multiple dye channels on each piece to boot!)?
XIV does not make things easy. For starters, we have to retain the gear in question, either in our inventory, armoire, or glamour dresser. The armoire removes dyes, so even if you can store something in there, you may not want to if you've used an expensive dye on it. Glamour plates can only be designed in an inn room. Said plates can only be applied in major cities. Your glams can actually break if you change jobs out in the open world. Not all gear is dyeable, and when it is, we only have the option to dye a single channel. I'm sure other people can think of other issues, but those come to mind first for me. So yeah, it could be improved upon greatly.
This doesn't make any sense to me... Just because a road is poorly made doesn't mean people won't use it if it's the only road available. They can use the road and ask for improvements at the same time.
There can still be a lot of joy and fulfillment with the current glamour system. It doesn't mean it's perfect, or it has a good usability.
