    In other news, there is no technical debt from 1.0.

    Back in 2007, after working on a joint project with them at my US employer, I got a job offer from NTT Docomo to do R&D work for them in Japan.
    However, after months of waiting while they tried to get the paperwork pushed through the Japanese government, I decided to change careers instead, and stay in the US.

    The lesson: it ain't quick or easy for a Japanese company to hire foreigners.
