I mean...I'm not quitting, but I am more than likely not going to play SAM in 6.2

That's fair, man. It's just a personal choice. Don't expect people to follow or anything. I've been playing since 2.1 IIRC and dropping jobs since 4.0 started. This one's just another kick in the nuts for me. All my favorite jobs are neutered and the one that seems okay-ish and I like to play most after SAM is lined up to be "adjusted" next. (DRG)

I just picked up Sam and like it so eh.

Another white knight troll, wanna play 7.0 where all classes have just 1 button?

How the hell am I a white knight? I'm 83 atm and never played with kaiten. I don't feel the job is missing anything.

If anyone here is being hostile or trolling it's you.

the roadmap the released earlier this year showed that they planned to add more to island sanctuary at least through the EW patch cycles (wording implies the addition of a second island even)

Don't hold your breath on outdoor furnishings on the Island. Despite the fact that folks can easily spend more time out there than their own house, it's not meant as a straight up replacement. That's been said from the beginning. Placement of buildings and such seems very static, so there doesn't appear to be room for anything beyond that.



It's been said in at least one previous LL and possibly fanfest that they plan to add to it.

Well, I think I'm quitting indefinitely once this sub is up. I can't play an MMO with ass gameplay, sorry. Honestly can't believe there was even a mention of anything about SAM changes in the live letter. It's been a cool ride, at least Endwalker gave me a sense of finality.

If a player relies THAT heavily on a single skill not being present for them to wonder if playing is anymore of an option (considering the wide-range of other jobs to choose from); I'm not convinced the game is the problem here.

I mean you can play how you want, but i really suggest you to try branching out- and maybe just leave Samurai behind if it's that unfun for you.

Yeah I've seen it.

As someone that never played with it, I don't feel there's an issue, but can understand why people are pissed.

Personally, I like all my stuff fitting on two double cross bars. I hate bar swapping. Dragoon irritates me because the combo is so long I need to bar swap for aoe. Summoner annoys me because my setup has me swap for aoe.

Samurai fits and I like it. Adding kaiten back might mess with my bars and I'd just end up macroing it to something.

I accidentally posted this in the wrong thread, but you gotta be blind if you can't see the gradual degradation of job design. They are nowhere near as engaging. You're right though, nobody forced me to play. The gameplay, believe it or not, was not always ass. I switched from MNK to DRG to DRK to SAM as they got knocked down a peg one by one. SAM was the last job I really enjoyed and as you may have heard, it's been gutted as of 6.1.


I liked the MSQ, I enjoyed my time with EW, but I literally cannot stick around for the MSQ alone as it is. It's a game at the end of the day, not a movie.

SAM was gutted in 6.0. Kaiten removal was not what destroyed the job.

Looks like someone cannot make a distinction between genuine white knighting and someone expressing a different viewpoint, but that's okay, keep saying it and you may someday know what it actually means instead of using it inappropriately for a difference in viewpoint.

Looks like someone tries to defend trolls in general forum but that's ok someone has to play with kids that dont play game but keep subscription on to chitchat for funsies.
