I even use to have a list of players I knew on my server that always sold certain items I needed and would seek them out in the world to buy from them directly.

This is what Yoshida took from us.
He stolen the games mmo aspect in favor for making it more like a single player game.
We now only have FFXI for a real ff mmo experience but even there they are trying to make that into a single player game too.

I am honestly tired of having my mmos turn into single player games. If I wanted to only play single player games then I would just play that genre instead.

Maybe that's why I stopped being as active ingame... I'm just tired of playing a single player game pretending to be a mmo
Your weird complaints (player bazaars in XI and XIV 1.0 were terrible, sorry, not sorry) and current XIV's server tick rates aside have nothing to do with optimization. The game literally ran like hot garbage. I had a top tier PC when 1.0 came out and the game chugged HARD. I would get a crazy amount stutters and random FPS drops out of nowhere. Maintaining 60FPS was nearly impossible and the menus were incredibly slow/clunky.

1.0 was horrid in every way in terms of optimization and gameplay.
