You might think these things aren't the same nor connected, but if SE ever would decide to crackdown on third party stuff, you can bet that your precious mods would take the brunt of it. Hence, all talk about things like this will be drowned out quickly by the usual suspects.

Dude, you do realize things like hair, clothes, and skin are a lot more common than nude mods, right? Besides, even if it were nude mods, as long as they aren't posting the photos publicly it isn't harming anyone. Sit down, shut up, and let people enjoy things.

you have bards "botting", you have people using mods to change appearances of clothing, you have people using add-ons, some people even using helpers in raids, etc, etc. and none of the things I listed interacts with anyone elses gameplay.

I mean would botting the gathering be fine if said person was using gathered resources for their personal use only?
IMHO? Yes. If they are using the material and not selling it, it's more than ok.

    https://youtu.be/udhUBqXeHqw check at 18 seconds

all character instantly and in absolut PERFECT syncro changed gear :O
so yes multiboxxing is a thing, but having a program that actually control and macro, all account to switch gear in an instant, isnt this forbidden by SE ? isnt this actually considered "botting" ?
    im seriously confused here ...

and yes needless to say, during the actual concert they were in absolut syncro too ..., was nice i agree, but still feel kinda puzzled about this ;(
incase the question hasn't been answered:
its automated gameplay, but its not botting.
and its only automated gameplay because of the program being used to do the concert performance with the instruments. multiboxing does use a 3rd party program, but its a single person that is still controlling all the PCs, so its not considered to be botting.
botting would be if all the PCs were running around doing things like harvesting or something without a human being providing input via keyboard or controller, and in the video you provided you can actually see that individual characters are being controlled seperately as the account(s) owner is setting them up to perform. even though its a little difficult with the constant movement of the camera.
so while it is a violation of the ToS, you have to be Blizzard tiers of anti-fun to complain about it since it has no player impact.

There are two or three roving groups of bards, going from OCE server to server playing concerts. No one complains. No one whines. Everyone loves it, you should see Limsa some days, huge crowds.

NO ONE CARES how they play or why. Literally , NO ONE GIVES TWO HONKS that they use midi software, literally NO ONE. Not ONE person has ever stood up and said "they are using midi software they should be banned".

all account to switch gear in an instant
Thats a MACRO. Macros are part and parcel of the game and perfectly fine.

Some people..I swear in the name of the Twelve...

Harder to draw the line? Oh no, does that mean people have to use their brain to think about what should be okay and what shouldnt?? Does that mean I cant just have papa SE to tell what to think???

no it means, rules are rules, and they apply to everyone, the only way things stay fair.

on the other hand you have morale relativism, which is subjective.

and yes SE will tell you what to do in their game, and if you dont abide they'll take action, so will any other company.

just because they let some things fly under radar doesnt change that.

I mean some guy was using a mod on stream a month or two ago, and he got banned, meanwhile thousands do the same and they're unharmed, that is why morale relativism is bad when it applies to rules.

You have a curious understanding of fairness. You think it's fair that someone making a cool concert in game with no benefit whatsoever apart from having a fun time should receive the exact same punishment as someone using botted rotations and super telegraphs in DSR. That's not fair at all.

I find it hilarious that you say "just because they let some things fly under radar doesnt change that" when it does exactly that. It changes exactly that. The written rules only provide a framework under which to act, the enforcement chosen by SE has far more impact and is thus far more important for the players. If they say one thing but do another, what do you think matters more?

Also what do you mean with subjective? Do you think the current ToS are some god given revelation? They were created by people, they are enforced by people. It's always subjective.
