As far as I'm aware, multi-boxing isn't against the rules.
I also think it would be difficult to prove 3rd party program usage in this instance. This the sort of situation SE has those grey areas for. They won't sniff for what's on your computer. If you aren't pulling their attention to it and they can't prove what you're using, they tend to look the other way. They got ban heavy with streamers recently because streamers were painting themselves in neon colors and then jumping up and down in front of SE's faces with their usage.
You can swap gear like that with a signal repeater sending a keypress of a macro to multiple clients via hardware. I wouldn't call that botting.
And a lot of those bard concerts are done by folks in voice chat coordinating stuff. Let me guess, you're bent over that, too?

The babies are coming out in force lately complaining about harmless stuff huh?
When you deal with human beings, never count on logic or consistency.
Fluid like water. Smooth like silk. Pepperoni like pizza.
I'd rather have midi bots than people who can't play at all annoying people.
OP literally went to an event, had fun, and then snitched on everyone who made it possible lmao
these people aren't ruining eureka, they're not blowing up the market, they're not inundating a housing lottery; they're giving you music to listen to in an otherwise dead hub. who cares, man.
Going after a facet of the game that really has no measurable impact on your own gameplay is an absolutely poor trend to set going forward.
If they were to enforce their terms any more strictly than they already do, and include more systems to help in that department then you would not only be looking at Bard bots being crucified but a hell-a-lot more people in areas like raiding. Overall, it's just generally not a good facilitator of fostering a community if this is the case.
the thing is, generally speaking, rules are rules, or more and more things become a grey area, and its harder to draw the line.OP literally went to an event, had fun, and then snitched on everyone who made it possible lmao

you have bards "botting", you have people using mods to change appearances of clothing, you have people using add-ons, some people even using helpers in raids, etc, etc. and none of the things I listed interacts with anyone elses gameplay.
I mean would botting the gathering be fine if said person was using gathered resources for their personal use only?
Except this isn't Savage. You know this isn't Savage. Savage is something that you need to work with a team to get right, learn several strategies and it earns you exclusive rewards. It is renowned for being a hard piece of content that draws in the hardcore portion of the fanbase.
Bard botting is just people playing digital instruments for the sake of it. There is no reward other than the thing itself, unless you're being paid by someone else to do it. There are no groups that come online specifically to practice this. It is in no way, shape nor form any sort of content that defines the gameplay of FF14. It's just a feature. A very cute feature. One you'll only really see in city hubs or venues by what's probably either amateurs or people who know how to play an instrument.
If you had said "People are botting the card game or Mahjong", you'd honestly have a lot more of an argument than on this. Because even if most of us do perceive Gold Saucer as being virtually optional and without an impact on anything, you at least have rewards that come out of it. Instead you're asking SE to strike down what's essentially software-coordinated group emoting.

It is utterly in line with tos to muiltibox [aka have multiple accounts]. The only thing that is against tos is to account share.
