    I agree with the above, i'd much rather it was made harder and the droprate was increased.
    I'm fed up of MMO's nowadays that instantly reward you every step of the way, it loses the majesty and wonder of pondering what you might get from this drop or this chest. You feel great if something you want drops, and if it doesn't - try again tomorrow!

    God damn WoW with its tokens are obliterating MMOs : (

    So you'd rather play to and encourage the gambler's fallacy instead of allowing for working your way towards something... No thanks.

    Yeah, yeah. WoW is also the source of cancer, AIDS, is slowly killing polar bears and is the cause of global warming.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
    * Design ideas:

    You left out nuclear war, cockroach infestation, and general malaise in the world, not to mention malnutrition and starvation. . . . .

    Seriously WoW did usher in a new way of playing MMOs, it was called "Accessible to everyone." MMOs prior to WoW did not encourage casual players to come join, did not use celebrities to advertise for the kiddy pool. It worked for WoW most SE fans aren't from the kiddy pool. Edit: or at least most of them didn't used to be ...

    On topic, really 200 kills nothing but dark matter ... that's just not right a point/token system would at least give everyone something to look forward to, fuck gimme 1 point/win and make a weapon cost 25 points, least I'd get something eventually and not just wanna put the kbd thru my tv everytime I see 5 pieces of grade 5 dark matter.
    I of course exaggerate but I'm sure someone out there is going thru this or has quit already because of it.

    I wouldn't call working dads, technologically-impaired aunts and retired grandpas the kiddy pool, but okay. Though there was a lot of untapped potential (the "Betty White playing a warlock, mercilessly killing people in PvP while saying 'eat my DoTs, noob'" super bowl commercial that was proposed by the fans before that terrible commercial with Chuck Norris aired, for one...).

    I don't think anyone would disagree with this, though I also like having a larger selection of goods purchased through points/badges/totems to encourage repeated runs.

    Ok I didn't mean to discount the non-kiddy pool players, but you have to admit, WoW was accessible to 10 year olds, the design was made for it, and they even went so far as to make servers just for the kiddy pool players. I wouldn't ever say that there aren't plenty of adults playing, I'm one of them, and so are all the friends I have that game. I would say that WoW began a trend, it was hook-em-young and most other games have destroyed themselves by trying to follow that path. Look at all the crazy successful WoW clones out there. I just don't want to see FF end up that watered down to cater to an even younger crowd.
    Se has always managed to have complexity/strategy involved I don't want to see that go away.

    Yeah getting a totem a win and a everything costing 20+ totems to buy, depending on the gear so that at least we'd see something returned. Hell even @50 totems a weapon from the primals at least I'd have a weapon guaranteed so long as I keep putting in the wins.
