I play mainly BLM and WHM (before and after update) and never got a problem with this. Never used facetarget or subtarget w/e is called.
Yeah I made a thread about this and some people actually defended this.Until the last couple days I've mainly leveled DoH/L and some DD classes. Getting archer done meant I needed to get CNJ to at least 15 so that's been my goal tonight.
WOW, does interrupt while moving suck completely hard.
I had Cure/Protect I use while leveling other classes and I never really noticed - and I didn't think it was such a big deal when they made the change, but now that I'm doing it full time... I'm practically interrupted at every turn. I can't fight and cast, I can't move, I get interrupted by any knockback - I get interrupted, I swear, doing nothing!
It may have seemed natural in XI but it seems completely counter-intuitive to how this game is built and operates. This game is designed around the concept of moving while fighting. I don't think I could ever full-time a mage class, I would throw my controller against the wall!! I don't know how you mages stand it. Respect for you guys putting up with this. I had no idea.
I have no problem with this and i'm on controller
mage player on controller here, no problems whatsoever without any /facetarget macros
and im from EU, apparently lag is worst here (even thou i don't have a problem with that too...)
must be my gipsy magic ^~^
what else can i do but laugh at you ignorant flailings, gross exaggerations and general sensationalism? if it's so "game breaking" how did i play casters in speed runs for both dungeons days before you even finished your first regular clear?
is the facetarget feature perfect? no. but it's far from game-breaking. it's barely even game-impacting. stop making excuses for being bad.
(and p.s.- casting jobs aren't even my mains)

hey sorry i don't have a ls that pulls me through content and zerg runs stuff 12-14 hours a day until something is completed. nice try though, but like i said what else would i expect from you.what else can i do but laugh at you ignorant flailings, gross exaggerations and general sensationalism? if it's so "game breaking" how did i play casters in speed runs for both dungeons days before you even finished your first regular clear?

The problem with this is that if you stop and cast right away, the server simply does not recognise that you have stopped, and hence no casting. You need to wait 1 sec or more before the server allow you to cast. That's why they added H to face target, because if you press H the server is immediately notified that your character stopped. It could have been much better if any time you press a spell, your character will automatically do what H is supposed to do, stop moving. Then you can cancel spell by start moving again.
Moving cancelling casting is not a pain, what is a pain is that casting does not stop initial moving.
