I had this the other day. I wasnt rude to the tank. Didnt pull for him.I nicely asked him to pull more than one pack in a 80 dungeon (matoya which is super easy). The blm in the party was rude to me over it.This community is so afraid of any sort of confrontation that even the rest of the party will yell at you to shut up or "it's not so serious" or whatever else no matter how bad the person you're trying to give advice to is playing. Not to mention the person themselves getting upset or completely ignore any advice given. Hell I've been reported, or at least threatened with a report (never saw any repercussions) for sticking up for a newbie healer who was struggling with Stone Vigil. The tank got upset and said that my dps was bad, while I was typing to respond to him (go figure...), at least he got a report for that. But yeah, enough bad experiences makes you just want to not bother.

"stand still for Pyretic?" I've been playing for several years now, and have no idea what Pyretic is, or where it happens.
Pyretic: Debuff that makes you take massive damage when you ACT under the condition (use an ability). You can move, you just can't attack. This is includes auto attacks.
First introduced in World of Darkness - Five-Headed Dragon boss - IIRC
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
One thing I've done is to make open suggestions without targeting anyone.
In one dungeon, players would get a red tether from the boss that had to be removed by running to a post on the perimeter. If you didn't do this, you died.
One player kept failing at this, until I suggested the proper action (without naming anyone), and the failing player got it and survived next time.
This might be difficult with the tank not using mitigation though, but I have no awareness of what abilities other players are using, so I can't comment on them.

But anyway i agree with what OP said at the start of this thread and you should be allowed to expect people to be using their full kits and abilities to what they have available at that level range in the game, i would say at level 50-60 they should know what they are doing
Some might think it's a joke but this really does happen, and pretty often too. So many people have the mentality that no one should be criticized in the game so they tell you to shut up even if the criticism wasn't directed at them, even in a case like this where there wasn't even any cricitism, just asking nicely to pull more. That's what happens when they're not forced to be better during the leveling process. I don't know who it benefits to protect people from trying to play better, you'd think it would benefit everyone but not in their heads.
Ya'll, if you expect people to be competent at level 50-60 then class & story boosts need to be removed and mentors need to stop pushing them onto sprouts when they get frustrated over the story. This is how we end up with level 80 boosted chars struggling to perform a basic rotation or recognize what an AoE is.
As Deceptus said, it makes it so you take heavy damage when you attack at all, including auto attacks. Off the top of my head, it shows up during the Five-Headed Dragon in WoD, ExDeath in O4 and O4S, SoS and SoS EX, Addremalech in Castrum (for Bozja), and I THINK that's all. Personally I think the status should show up more often, gets people's attention.
Makes an appearance in Baelsar's Wall - Armored Weapon boss but called something different:As Deceptus said, it makes it so you take heavy damage when you attack at all, including auto attacks. "Dynamic Sensory Jammer "
Damages the player for any actions they take while the debuff is active, including movement.
Also:
T6 - Blighted Bouquet
Ozma - Acceleration Bomb
Which bolsters the point: Why do they keep adding small variations to mechanics. It only makes it harder to teach new people.
"Well, you handle the mechanic THIS way unless you're in X, Y, or Z content, then you have to do it this way or that way." But that content is 8 years old so the odds of you seeing it are pretty small.
