I like how people act as if everybody expecting an extreme/savage performance from random folks. How do you perform such mental gymnastics for 4837598th times and not get tired from it…?

With how bad the game even explains how to play the damn game without looking at a dozen resource guides, yeah I wonder why casual players have a worse time actually performing their role :I This game literally makes you think you're doing a good job at playing your role until you actually need to know it somewhat in ShB. And even then, you don't really need to.
Some of the duties say otherwise, especially considering how many people were actually failing the Cape Westwind instance because they didn't realize they needed better gear. With how bad the game even explains how to play the damn game without looking at a dozen resource guides, yeah I wonder why casual players have a worse time actually performing their role :I This game literally makes you think you're doing a good job at playing your role until you actually need to know it somewhat in ShB. I mean reading your tooltips tells you what to do, sure a few classes like MNK can be a bit confusing to do when you read the skills at level 1 but this thread is not discussing accidentally doing celestial revolution twice because you don’t understand beast chakra, it’s absolute bare basic things like thinking cure 1 spam is a valid playstyle, or not AOE’ing on a DPS or a tank not using damage reduction skillsWith how bad the game even explains how to play the damn game without looking at a dozen resource guides, yeah I wonder why casual players have a worse time actually performing their role :I This game literally makes you think you're doing a good job at playing your role until you actually need to know it somewhat in ShB. You can read tooltips all you want tho, doesn't mean players will properly utilize or understand them. WHM cure 1 spam is likely because they are fishing for freecure procs thinking that it is better than 2, 3, or the dozen of ogcd heals. That is what I am thinking anyways.I mean reading your tooltips tells you what to do, sure a few classes like MNK can be a bit confusing to do when you read the skills at level 1 but this thread is not discussing accidentally doing celestial revolution twice because you don’t understand beast chakra, it’s absolute bare basic things like thinking cure 1 spam is a valid playstyle, or not AOE’ing on a DPS or a tank not using damage reduction skills
This is just my experience but I've never seen people fail Cape Westwind, although tbf I rejoined this game pretty late so by the time I got the instance again, it was like a 1 minute cheese fight. In reality tho most of my experience is even with the leechers - you can just legit carry them through. Some people don't notice/don't care unless it's severely affecting the dungeon. Depending on what it is, it might not even matter. That's just a problem of the game being baby mode more than anything :/
Cape Westwind is now a solo instance, there is no completing it in 1 minute, or cheesing it with others anymore. The people losing are getting destroyed in the 3rd phase of it, which is basically a "burn the boss down" phase, because you are basically Holmgang'd and stuck in a burning field while he throws all his AoE attacks trying to kill you. It's pretty awesome. This is just my experience but I've never seen people fail Cape Westwind, although tbf I rejoined this game pretty late so by the time I got the instance again, it was like a 1 minute cheese fight. Ahhh, ok. I haven't heard anything about the new solo instance, that's pretty cool. When I was a sprout I've definitely been in the "whoops" territory when it came to gear - when you ride the MSQ train you just kinda assume that the gear the quests throw at you will do the job even if you have some pieces out of date. There were definitely times when I've just let the quests gear me and I would have like.. accessories I've outleveled by 5-10 levels or something close to that, thought it was fine since hey, I'm living through the dungeons so I'm ok! Even though I was actually severely undergeared.Cape Westwind is now a solo instance, there is no completing it in 1 minute, or cheesing it with others anymore. Although I know this game has an ok new player experience, it's definitely overwhelming and a lot of it is left unexplained - there's no way that the tank tutorials properly tell you how to tank, for example. Forget doing PLD rotations or anything like that based on the tooltips alone lol. I know we're talking about basic mechanics though, people are just incredibly weird, misunderstand things, or just plain-out don't know how to use it effectively. Of course there's people who are just genuinely not wanting to read/learn, but overall the game isn't great at explaining how to play. I'll also say this since it might be obligatory -- not a WoW player and the only thing slightly close to WoW I have ever gotten was RuneScape, but that still played VASTLY different.
Yeah you'd be surprised! Especially early on the freecure proc if you get a cure 1 spammer they'll follow it up with "it's fast, saves mp, efficient", or something along those lines.
I mean if people can’t understand that “10% damage mitigation and 550 potency regen that also restores 700 mana and doesn’t interrupt damage” is better than “cast for 2 seconds to restore 400 potency” then I don’t really know what to say anymoreYou can read tooltips all you want tho, doesn't mean players will properly utilize or understand them.
