I did get a house this lottery! And all I've done since then is hang out at my house and be immersed. It's so much fun, reminds me of the old days of Star Wars Galaxies where you could customize the hell out of a home.

Im glad the playerbase is one person

You missed the part where only a portion of the playerbase wanted a lotto
And when the lotto came out, the division of wards wasn't announced until just before it was released leaving people frustrated since the majority wanted a private plot
Also, it was understood the winning numbers would be 1-x not 0-x
The lack of transparency as usual from the XIV team until the last minute too late is the "the housing system isn't fair, do something about this!" we're all seeing
Housing will always be a problem up until the day this game shuts down. SE have already shown they are too slow to fix the problems, it makes sense they are a large company and housing is probably near the bottom of the priority list given the amount of jank you need to do to get your house looking the way you want. So the players will keep fighting over scraps of what should be a great system and jumping through hoop after hoop. If you have the gil you should be able to have a house FULL STOP. No lottos, no fcfs, no server transferring for a shot. Enjoy praying for a chance at a house though SE will keep enjoying your sub money while you wait years for a fix.
Buy a NFT of a house, which includes a code for you to unlock a house ingame.
No they fucking didn't? I'm sorry but FF14 is FAR from the most customiseable housing out there, THAT goes to ESO where you can literally plaec items in the air if you want to. I've built caves using ESO's system in houses that didn't have caves, and seen WAY more creative shit than just caves. ESO's issue is item limitations similar to 14, but in no way is it less customiseable. Ph and guess what else? IT'S INSTANCED.The problem SE has is that the made what is possibly the most customizable housing solution of any MMO, current ones included... for a playerbase that was a fraction of the size it is today. There weren't enough houses from Day 1. But back then, there were more houses than gil on the server.
Imagine the tantrums if they removed much of the customizing available in exchange for housing for all.
Actually RIFT is better than ESO. From what I've read, ESO doesn't allow you to resize furniture (seems to be a common request) while RIFT does. RIFT's housing instances can be access from any open world location via menu but they're still a replica of a portion of the game world. And some RIFT locations allow up to 2800 items to be placed. No they fucking didn't? Pretty much every system in the game is designed to accommodate most players. Most. Not all. That's the whole point. You never design something that accommodates literally everyone. That's just overkill. You design enough to satisfy the majority, and the rest aren't enough to worry about.
I feel like your talking about real world government.Pretty much every system in the game is designed to accommodate most players. Most. Not all. That's the whole point. We have Homeless we need to fix the issue for 5 years+ this has been going on, well before corona ( for you parts are hard ot get people)... part of the lure of the game written on the back of the box is a new housing district...
Not 1 new person had to buy End Walker and there still wouldn't of been enough houses.
I get the cant please everyone line.. but for over 5 years straight id bet every day there's been a "more wards/ instance housing" thread on the front page of this section..
you have 7,200 houses per server you packing with how many characters? not counting fc's
Now that servers are out of apartments guess whats coming...
"If you own a house or are in a fc (Since you can get a room) you cant have a apartment" <-- this the type of NOT listing and band aid fixing the housing system Se will do

Re-read what I said.I feel like your talking about real world government.

There's not supposed to be enough houses. That's the whole point.
The system isn't meant to be perfect. It's simply "good enough." Because the investment in designing and implementing a "perfect" system outweighs the benefits they gain from doing so.
Instanced housing will never happen until/unless it becomes the faster/cheaper option compared to just racking up some more servers for wards/worlds.
