To be honest, I find it reeeeally hard to believe running into tanks late in game who have yet to do the basic of basics of dungeon mob mitigation. Ive done roulettes DAILY in this game and not once have I ever encountered this issue in late game content. The only reasons I can think of for this ever happening are:

1. They're a boosty andy, didnt care for msq and wanted to hop into that sweet gravy FFXIV hype train so they wound up picking tank because they wanted to go big uh....you know what I mean and felt like they knew the game already from playing other MMOs with better combat.

2. They're a returning player, that was out from the game for a long ass time, so there was some major rust to work through.

3. Job boosty andy, used to dps or perhaps even heal but never tanked and didnt want to level another job all the way back from square 1.

Despite these reasons, that tank was just being a total prick. Anybody who legit has been ignoring how a role is supposed to work this late into the game's content has no right to get angry when people are telling them to please do the bare minimum required for the role. Also seriously dont even be a dick in general, whats wrong with you.

You've been lucky, then. I saw a no-mitigation gladiator with broken gear in the Dead Ends yesterday. He folded like paper in the first trash pull and tried to blame it on the healer.

The poetics from the cap 50 dungeons and trial in Duty Support are nice for gearing. Aurum Vale isn't in Duty Support. And neither is POTD. POTD also doesn't really function like normal dungeons and doesn't really train you on your job - you don't W2W pull for instance. At least that's what I got out of the jobs I have done in POTD. The dungeon in Duty Support before the cap 50 dungeons is Stone Vigil, which is level 41.

There's also no wrong way to level. I'm aware that the cap dungeons are less efficient than the X9 dungeons in leveling. But it's not wrong to do those dungeons to level, when the goal is simply to level a class. Not looking to break any records on speed of leveling.

Yoshida’s M.O is that the game should be casual focused and that casual players should be able to play 95% of the content and there should be reasonable accommodations made for people who struggle, not that spamming hakaze and nothing else and doing 40% of the damage a healer should contribute is in any way acceptable just because there is no enrage oh casual content

I've been seeing more and more of this kind of "lax" tanking style lately in expert roulette and it's infuriating. （○｀Ｏ´○）
Does everyone need to be at the level where they can clear savage content on day one? No.
Does every new player need to watch guide videos before they go in a dungeon or normal/hard trial for the first time? Of course not.
But there should be a base expectation that people are required to do the base functions of their roles: tanks use mitigation, healers heal when things get dicey, everyone uses AoEs when dealing with more then 2 mobs, etc.
Why should one player get a free pass to slack and make someone else (usually the healer) clean up the mess for them? All that does is add to the anxiety first-time healers get while also annoying most of the veteran healers, who don't want to be treated like a heal-bot. (╬⓪益⓪)
