This is what healers are going to look like in the next expansion i bet. Here I present you the new healer tutorial in FFXIV :

"Milestone"? What does this even mean?
What i see is:
Over simplyfication, too much clutter that could be removed, class identity is almost deleted and at a alltime low
The devs design a OGCD healer without the need for it and leave us with "1111121111" spam.
Where or what is that "Milestone" you talk ? Old skills ? We lost some and got some back - just a back and forth.
The healer design has no direction - heck, i think who ever is in charge of healer design should give the healers to somebody else and just design something they like. Because the whole healer design at the moment feels like "i dont like this but its a job"- thing.
When I saw that we were going from Broil III at 290 potency in ShB to Broil IV at 295 potency in EW, I was shaking with how excited I was. I couldn't believe they were so generous with a whole 5 potency. I'm going to probably scream in excitement when 7.0 comes out and Broil V hits 300 potency, playing SCH going to be WILD once it hits 300!!!
current healer design is boring as fuck since shadowbringer, i was a former AST one trick pony before 5.00... now i ditched that job for shit obvious reasons and i'm not even sure which jobs/role i enjoy the most at this point
i heard that they plan to do a rework on AST for 7.00, i hope they will finally be back in the right track while also fixing others healers designs
YoshiP : "if you want challenge play ultimate" -> it dosnt matter everyone still spam that fucking one button dps in thordan ultimate so fix your fucking shit for once instead of keep ruining the game, especially on the healer side for more than 2years
Might be seen as a very salty message but as a healer main i'm just fucking angry at them
They have to force you to heal SOMEHOW.
Even if the total amount of healing isn't actually being increased you're simply being forced to press your dps button less.

The problem ISN'T healers rotation is busted or boring...
Same, it's the best designed healer ATM for me. So much that I'm switching from an AST main to a SGE main for next raid tier.
Then here's a suggestion for them. Stop giving oGCDs for everything then, and give us more to actually heal. I remember having to shield a lot back during early Omega days in Stormblood, just from the damage going out. Especially Catastrophe, if any DPS was under a specific max HP (which was likely the first few weeks), his raidwide was a guaranteed 1-shot if not shielded.
What a depressing, but accurate, depiction of modern healing game design. Here I present you the new healer tutorial in FFXIV :

I just want to say how happy I am hearing and seeing so many different opinions about this thread that I made out of love and genuine frustration so many months ago. Sadly, that frustration grows a little bit every day as I sit in PF after PF hoping and praying for healers to join the party only for people to eventually give up and leave after a while. Despite the game being bigger and more popular than ever it's become incredibly difficult to get people to queue up for current endgame content as healer despite getting a new healer this expansion and with savage dungeons on the immediate horizon. Reading through this thread my only hope is that the devs see this discussion and keep everything said in mind as they continue to develop the game. Regardless of how you may personally feel about this topic, I would hope and assume that everyone who took the time to click on this thread did so because they truly enjoy playing this game and want it to be a fun and healthy experience for everyone. I will continue hoping for this as well and cross my fingers about what the future will bring.
Honestly it’s annoying for us all but I kinda hope that this absolute deficit of healers continues, if a lack of healers begins to actually affect how the game functions it might finally be the catalyst that gets square to realise the healing design in this game is utter rubbishI just want to say how happy I am hearing and seeing so many different opinions about this thread that I made out of love and genuine frustration so many months ago. It might do nothing but it’s also about the only way we might see a change
Or once again the devs will miss the problem and dumb down the healing kit thinking that healing is the problem when it's the DPS side of it. Which would be stupid since they actually got healing in Savage right this time around, with a hell of a lot more raidwide damage going out that actually hits really hard and requires the party to work together to mitigate it, and tankbusters that leave a nasty DoT on the tanks. So at least they figured out healing for Savage...now make the DPS side better for stuff that isn't that intensive and we'll be good.Honestly it’s annoying for us all but I kinda hope that this absolute deficit of healers continues, if a lack of healers begins to actually affect how the game functions it might finally be the catalyst that gets square to realise the healing design in this game is utter rubbish
