It's the catgirls (although generally these people tend to play au-ra from what I've seen...) and the general anime-adjacent aesthetic. We get the worst of the anime crowd, the MMO crowd, AND the general casual gamer crowd. It's like you're mixing a big soup of sexual repression and low social skills with a lot of self righteousness thrown in. It's why I love the community (because it is, undeniably, really fucking funny) but also why it's insufferable

Lurking in some Discords of clubs that I am in, there's definitely some "performers" which are Miqo'te, but the NSFW channels are stuffed full of female Xaela Au Ras and female Viera, with a smattering of male/female Miqo'te and male Au Ra (they're never Raen!). Occasional male Viera and Hyurs. Never seen a Lalafell in a compromising position which I'm thankful for.

How would they put ERP under surveillance though, is big daddy SE gonna send out undercover mods to RP venues to see if they can hire an escort? lol. Most known escort clubs will not have ERP services on their carrd, only on their discord.

And although this is in no way justifying it, if a teen wants to go cyber, they will go cyber, same way if they want to go look at porn. It doesn't make it right of course -- most venues operate on a level of trust that you are being honest with your age so in a lot of ways it really fucks with everyone involved. I do think at least some try to vet the people they do ERP with with a preliminary conversation, but for the most part they have no way of knowing unless the teen is well.. acting like a teen. I personally do not RP with anyone unless I can be confident that they are an adult lol

It's a more personal experience compared to just watching some random girl strip on her webcam to pay her rent.

Some people are still too paranoid because of covid to try to pursue real life partners again (I don't blame them because I literally got omicron by going out for a cup of coffee not long ago) so this is an alternative.

Dropping by to tell people in here to check their kids search history because odds are you're already too late on keeping them protected from sexual things.

Time to realize this isn't the 80s or 90s anymore and kids are exposed to sexual content on the regular via YouTube and other platforms.

Instead of trying to stop places from having sexual content, do your job as a parent and put up parental blocks on websites. Install a keylogger on your kids computer and check it every week or two to see what they're typing to people or in their search bar. If you're that concerned about it, take the steps needed to keep your kids away from stuff you don't want them to see.

It is not our job to babysit your kids. It is not Square's job to babysit your kids. That's YOUR job.

You should not stalk your child. Putting up a personal surveilance state in your home is not going to make you child trust you.

The way they decided to handle it was:

- if two (or more?) people are in an isolated place, without others watching what they are doing, then "it's ok".

- making ERP in public (orgies?) or publishing/displaying in public altered contents of game folders is a violation of the Terms of Service. (well, technicaly, using altered content even for isolated acts are violations as well, but since no one is watching - beside God? - it's ok xD ).

So, this kind of "problem" is already known and "solved".

However, there would be more respect for those who do not like this type of content. I know parents who play with their kids or with family members watching. And streamers that go live without knowing anything about it beforehand... It would be very strange for them to see this type of content and it damages the image of the company that provides the game if they watch "porn" in a T rated game.

Public ERP reporting mechanisms should be accessible to anyone who needs or wants to protect themselves from this type of content.

But, outright banning the act itself is a bit contrary to what some are looking for in this game. There are tastes for everything, but everyone (both in favor and against ERP) should be respected and the rules to protect both of them should be clear and with easy to use repoting system for the people not respecting the limits.

We just need a better reporting system and clearer rules. Not to get rid of anyone based only on tastes...

You should not stalk your child. Putting up a personal surveilance state in your home is not going to make you child trust you.

It's not stalking to make sure your child is being safe online and not engaging with those who would cause them harm. If your child is afraid of being monitored until they're of an age they can appropriately make decisions, probably means they're doing something wrong already.

But hey, if you'd rather your kid run wild online that's not my problem either. Just don't really get room to complain about them being around sexual influences at the same time.
