You know you can do both right lol, having an online life =\= having a real life. Plenty of teens still have a great time outdoors, school, academically and still find time to the play the game. I did that too whilst juggling with a part time job, clubs, sports, ect lol. I have met amazing people that I talk to this day when I was a teen online and RL, again I don't think we should deprive teenagers of an online experience because some dude can't stop being horny.

just a reminder: beside this parent/kids stuff you guys entered into, we must consider the responsibility of the company that gives us access to a service (yep, this game is a service). As such, the company is ruled by laws. So, if we have the rating T (+13) on this service, we must access the same service knowing the intended target clients they are looking for.

So, if you want to do ERP, if you are into it, just do it without showing it to everyone. Privacy is advised since it's a kinda "forbidden" act inside a +13 age service. And don't expect the devs will aliviate the restrictions just because you do like it or because parents or kids this and that.... Instead, it's easier for them to put even more restrictions/baniments for those who do like ERP inside a +13 age service...

The company have a responsability. As we all have when we signed their ToS. So, despite the great and emotional speeches, we have to keep things considering laws and legal limits for everyone.

That's kind of it really, you sort of nailed it. A ToS document for an online game is basically a company covering its own ass and the ESRB specifically does not rate online interactions. Companies like SE, Funcom, EA, SOE, NCSoft, or any other publisher running MMOs of various ratings are well aware that this sort of thing goes on in their game. The rules provide a sort of catch-22. We're not going to hunt down the people doing it, but don't let us catch you doing it. IE: Don't do it in public. It's kind of like mods really, where SE was never too vocal about them until fools started posting their NSFW and porn stuff on open forums and social media where it was visible to the world. Yoshi-P seems to believe strongly in privacy, which is why the ToS document clauses over what is or is not offensive speech to a reasonable person is worded the way it is.

Provided you keep your elicit writing out of the open public discourse, they seem to have no issue with you. Now of course, doing such a thing with a minor is in and of itself a legal issue, but it doesn't matter whether people do it in M rated games or T rated games. Unfortunately, adults and children alike, people go onto the internet and tell lies. In the end it just kind of falls to personal responsibility and judgement.

this whole thing is a witch hunt. i'm playing this game for years and never ever have i've seen any kind of erp in it. how does it even look like? no teenager is shoked about normal sex talk... especially without images... which they dont have because they dont have these mods.
i dont consider rp-locations as erp btw... because normal rp is a big thing in this community (not for me but that doesnt mean i have to oppose it)

Honestly as a child with extremely strict and abusive parents that adore to poke their nose in whatever I'm doing (past 23 at this point), it's dumb to see people saying overly nosy parents will keep kids away from sexual content. They'll just grow the animosity between their kid and them even more. Leave the kid to find out what's up by themselves no matter what. No, I'm not asking people to expose children to such stuff. I'm just saying that there's quite a few people in here who support being super heavy-handed to their kids with little thought. Do better.
