Off to Connecticon to go spend some money.
This. We'll see if they'll scale it back now that they're in some trouble, but for as long as the above remains true, any "offers" to re-sub will go straight to the trash bin. The sole redeeming feature of Prime is you can pick and choose what to rent and it has some practical benefits separate to its streaming service, but I can't say I'd watch any of their own productions...I got rid of Netflix a while back and I don't regret it. There's some good stuff here and there but even a lot of the good stuff seems to get one good season and then decline in quality after it has successfully hooked people. Add in the frequent heavy handed, awkward tokenism and 'messaging' and it rapidly killed my interest.

When the game's story becomes self-aware:
Yeah I do think Netflix has put out some good stuff but most of it falls trap to the same crap.I got rid of Netflix a while back and I don't regret it. With that said I don't think it's some kind of rule at Netflix, I think it's the creatives themselves who do it.
I mean Netflix also refused to back down on the Chappelle thing and uh, Cuties...
It seems like they're fairly onboard with creators having most of the power at least, but I also think there's a plague in the US entertainment industry with certain people who are a bit perpetually online and think everything needs to be some kind of social issue.
I mean, I doubt there's many publishers in the US who would publish something like Bastard!! uncensored too.
So I think Netflix as a company seems alright and pretty open to everything, but a lot of the people who work there are the usual crowd.
I really dunno what to do about it tho, I think it's too insulated of a community in the entertainment industry it's like a friend-clique who act like Reddit powermods rofl.
It must really suck to try and work there unless you adapt to their shenanigans.
I think that the biggest problem with it is that the same people just simply move around from company to company.This. It's seen in the games industry too where the same people just get a new job somewhere else often in an even higher position even after being fired.

That moment when your mother cleans out her Keurig machine with vinegar water, doesn't tell you, and only runs it a few cups to flush out whatever might've built up in there to help the pump. Then you proceed to wake up in the morning, make coffee and get to work...only to realize not only the cream you put in it curdled but it tastes terribly sour.
I should look into getting a new machine for her.
This one is beyond your help. Only sleep can save her now.
Happiness. My opinion of Sapkowski is uh... negative to put it lightly, given how he's acted towards CDPR across the years and his shallow, PR praise for the Netflix show. But teenager me is squealing with delight ATM. Been wanting to read these for years.

I see you've tossed a coin to your Witcher.
The two reasons I keep using my mom's Prime Video is The Boys and The Grand Tour. Rest is just white noise for me.This. I want to buy all of the Berserk volumes at some point, I imagine it'll probably be very expensive xD.
I just want them all on display as a collection thing tho lol.
It used to be like that with Blizzard for me until I just threw all of it away when I essentially swore off their games.
But I collected their collectors editions, artbooks and a bunch of figurines and stuff.
I just like having that stuff sorta set up in a corner to look nice :P.
But yeah, apparently Sapkowski basically just gave it to CDPR cheap because he never thought they'd do anything good with it and just wanted some quick cash?
Kinda shitty thing to do with your own creation too imo.
I wonder if he just learned his lesson and is trying not to make the same mistake with the Netflix show.

Initially Sapkowski gave rights to a different company to make a Witcher game, but it didn't work out and it tanked. After that he was pretty much disillusioned with the game industry and when CDPR begged to make a project of the game he was like, whatever, I'll get my quick cash and bail. He praises the show because they essentially do pay him royalties IMHO. CDPR even gave him some remuneration even though they didn't have to, and used to approach him a lot when the first game was being made for stuff related to the world. He's been nothing but mean to them anyway.
