Kairos was meant to wipe the memory of creations so they can be tested repeatedly or something to the effect.

But with the game down I can't double-check that.

Though that doesn't mean he didn't also use it that way.

This is correct. It was explained that

before expunging their existence, they would try memory wipes on creations first, just in case it was an environmental cause of trainer trauma or the like.
