Hildibrand for relic? Really?

This whole thread boils down to: It's ok if you don't like this content or Hildebrand. Plenty of people disliked Bozja and Eureka as well. They can't make everyone happy all the time. Personally I'm excited to see what Eorzea's greatest blacksmith and goldsmith will bring.

Exactly. If you dont like Eureka you either have to force yourself through hours of boring grinding to get a weapon or leave the whole relic of a expansion behind.

With this relic we only know that you have do to the quests. Nothing more is known. Maybe its finally a relic step again, where you can do the normal content with your relic instead of being forced into a instance. If that is the case then simply skip the story quests and enjoy the rest.

Many people enjoyed Eureka and Bozja. The latter was cut short artificially despite being planned to be meatier - so I don't think that qualifies as 'fair'. Especially not when more and more of the game is increasingly steeped in inoffensive, wacky humour.

It's a matter of balance and I hope they can manage to maintain it.

Bozja was okaish received here on the forum but Eureka? That made the forum burn. So yes people enjoyed it, people also hated it.

Now for this relic we only know that you need to have done the Hildibrand questline once.

Its just the required step to start it. We dont know if it will be funny or who will even be in it. Maybe it has Hildibrand in it or maybe it does not. Could just be that its something to connect us to the questgiver which could be Godbert himself.

All I heard was Greg EX, where one of the phases requires all party members to die to prevent Julyan from hitting him. He then revives the team and you go onto the next phase normally when it happens.

Eureka is its own separate content, designed for people who are interested in its unique mechanics and progress. Hildibrand is something you need to go through in order to even UNLOCK the separate content for the relic. They're not comparable. The only comparison that would have been fair would be the need to clear Return to Ivalice to unlock Bozja.

ARR forces Crystal Tower 24 mans down your throat to continue MSQ.
HW forces you to do Lost City of Ampador and Ampador Keep HM to unlock Mhach Raids, which also forces you to do Ampador Keep to unlock its HM. Which are things you're about to have to do if you want the new Tataru quest.
ARR through SB forces you to do previous dungeons to unlock the HM variants of them.
ShB forces you to do Ivalice 24 mans for Bozja, and the Warring Triad trials if you want the final role quest.
EW is forcing you to do Hildibrand for the relic.

Join date in 2016 and 4.6k posts says otherwise, my friend. Besides, what's your point? I never said the game does not force you do content. Quite the opposite actually. The entire game of FFXIV is optional, so if you really want me to break things down I will be more than happy to point out that SE actually doesn't force you to do anything. Despite that, I acknowledge this is a poor decision from the devs that I don't agree with at all.

Both Return to Ivalice and doing Hildi to start your relics is fine compared to the relics locked behind eureka...
