We're talking an iconic quest line, that talks about one's parent's legacy, destiny, and war traume along with following healing from it VS Hildy quest.same reason people did the ivalice raids for the shb relics, you can argue that you would prefer your apple without the 16 layers of gift wrapper, but that is whats offered and you can take it or leave it. honestly i don't see the need to tie it into the hildibrand quests either but really, just skip through it, its not nearly as bad as people make it out to be, skipping and blizzing through hildibrand probably will take half as long as the easiest actual relic step.
Pardon me, but StB allies are at least interesting.
I dunno, I am ok with it.
What is important is the actual EW content.
Weapon looking great? What to do with the content? Etc. If those are good then super happy
The requirement is not even this bad, I had to bear long queues and people leaving with Orbonne even with Bozja requirement or nerfs.
At least most of Hildibrand can be done solo you can unsynch with some people for lv70 trial or such
To check as never watched the LL, But to get the relic am i going to have to do all Hildibrand quests? from ARR to now.
Or is it just going to be a new quest/ standalone line that has the relics at the end
Ah yes, as I expected, complaining the relic quest behind Hildy.
Get mald and do the quest already, you have months left. Skip it or not? Your choice![]()
Now it's only a matter of time until players cry about the mandatory instanced duties from the hildi questlines and encourage the team to nerf them, despite those fights already being easy. As it is the fate of everything that is mandatory to unlock any content in this game...
we are talking about one of the funniest questlines i've seen in any game the last few years vs a generic... you know what ? i can't even diss it because it bored me to death so i started skipping stuff halfway through the introduction to the second ivalice raid.
it's great you enjoyed the ivalice questline, i'm sure many did, its sad you dislike hildibrand as obviously you will have to force yourself through a bunch of quests with no value to yourself aside from opening up the content that actually interests you, but "StB allies are at least interesting" is absolutely subjective. you liked them, you dislike hildibrand, both are fine, doesn't mean the same goes for everyone. at the end of the day the requirement is easy enough to meet if you put aside a few hours, people do it literally all the time to get something they want, my point wasn't that you should like hildibrand but that it's easy enough to do and people do stuff that doesn't interest them all the time to get a reward, with an mmo it's just part of the package, not everyone can like every content.

4. 3 in ARR, 1 in SB.
Besides, how can you truly know which players truly enjoy the Hildabrand questline when you make it a requirement for something they do actually want? Do you want to force content down our throats, or actually give players the ability to choose which content they go into? You both must be new here.
ARR forces Crystal Tower 24 mans down your throat to continue MSQ.
HW forces you to do Lost City of Ampador and Ampador Keep HM to unlock Mhach Raids, which also forces you to do Ampador Keep to unlock its HM. Which are things you're about to have to do if you want the new Tataru quest.
ARR through SB forces you to do previous dungeons to unlock the HM variants of them.
ShB forces you to do Ivalice 24 mans for Bozja, and the Warring Triad trials if you want the final role quest.
EW is forcing you to do Hildibrand for the relic.
Skip, Hildi quests were fun for total of 5 minutes.
It's enough to break routine, and that's what tends to grind gears when it comes to forced content. Breaking routine is not bad, and actually a good thing if it is something the person actually wants to do. People who actually want to run Hildabrand won't have any issues breaking away from their daily grinds, and will be refreshing for them. For everyone else, it's a chore. They don't want to see the cutscenes. They don't want to read or skip through a ton of dialogue. They want nothing to do with the questline. Devs need to see by making these kind of decisions they cater to a minority while pissing off the majority. These are not good decisions, and this is coming from someone who defends this team to no end.
