Hildibrand for relic? Really?

This whole thread boils down to: It's ok if you don't like this content or Hildebrand. Plenty of people disliked Bozja and Eureka as well. They can't make everyone happy all the time. Personally I'm excited to see what Eorzea's greatest blacksmith and goldsmith will bring.

Exactly. If you dont like Eureka you either have to force yourself through hours of boring grinding to get a weapon or leave the whole relic of a expansion behind.

With this relic we only know that you have do to the quests. Nothing more is known. Maybe its finally a relic step again, where you can do the normal content with your relic instead of being forced into a instance. If that is the case then simply skip the story quests and enjoy the rest.

Many people enjoyed Eureka and Bozja. The latter was cut short artificially despite being planned to be meatier - so I don't think that qualifies as 'fair'. Especially not when more and more of the game is increasingly steeped in inoffensive, wacky humour.

It's a matter of balance and I hope they can manage to maintain it.

Bozja was okaish received here on the forum but Eureka? That made the forum burn. So yes people enjoyed it, people also hated it.

Now for this relic we only know that you need to have done the Hildibrand questline once.

Its just the required step to start it. We dont know if it will be funny or who will even be in it. Maybe it has Hildibrand in it or maybe it does not. Could just be that its something to connect us to the questgiver which could be Godbert himself.

Eureka is its own separate content, designed for people who are interested in its unique mechanics and progress. Hildibrand is something you need to go through in order to even UNLOCK the separate content for the relic. They're not comparable. The only comparison that would have been fair would be the need to clear Return to Ivalice to unlock Bozja.

Both Return to Ivalice and doing Hildi to start your relics is fine compared to the relics locked behind eureka...

Yes and since its is own separate content you are forced to use it if you want to do the relic weapon at all. With this one, the only information we have is, that you need to have gone through the Hildibrand quests. Something which is done once. Afterwards the relic could be like they were in other expansions where you can farm it from normal content. So bascially if you skip the cutscenes of Hildibrand and do these quests in a few hours the whole relic could still be good. If you dont like Eureka you have no chance to gain the relic any other way.
