The FC only homes in Ishgard (Behemoth) are available for bid.
If I see an anime gif in someone's sig I immediately use a pop-up blocker to permanently hide that shit.
FFXIV, like the many other online games is P2W.
Instead of being able to pick up and play classes/jobs right off the bat like other mmo, or very minimal requirments outside of owning an expansion like its' predecessor.....XIV locked jobs not only require the expansion, but main quest and level grinding to fuel the "Time vs Want" Psychology in the form of Tales Adventure items......

I wouldn't call the boosts/skips pay-to-win, more pay for convenience as they don't dump straight to level 90 and into the end game. You get a small handful of Gil with each boost so that's closer to being pay-to-win. However, I will say the retainer system is close to being P2W. You get extra inventory space and marketboard usage from an additional monthly expenditure on top of the existing subscription. Likewise the FF7 bike that's effectively like having the first mount speed increase for each zone without earning it.FFXIV, like the many other online games is P2W.

There's nothing really out there, yet at least, like buying max level characters or a WoW Token equivalent but there's certainly additional cash purchases that give a gameplay advantage.
Almost all solo duties are mindbogglingly boring garbage.
Small houses are the best. Best yard, best views, best item density due to the limit, and the other sizes are ridiculously large. I know that for pretty builds you need to close a lot of its space, but then you have a gigantic house in the outside and a glamourized apartment on the inside and it strongly bothers me.

As someone who plays A LOT of Jobs and in endgame content too ( in other words, I know how to play them on a competent level ).Almost all solo duties are mindbogglingly boring garbage.

The solo duties frustrate the hell out of me too.
I wish easy mode was the 1 1 1 1 1 spam and the rest was more fleshed out, I get that everyone needs to get through the MSQ but that's what easy modes are for.
Just spamming 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 is boring as hell ( yes I know Healers have issues with this ).
I just dunno why they have to be designed as if people have never touched the Jobs before and don't have a functioning brain and can't comprehend anything more complex than spamming one button.
People who take off their gear to guarantee a crystal tower queue during alliance raid roulette deserve a 10 day ban, and the whole system should be changed so this can't happen in the first place. I loaded into syrcus tower yesterday and saw a naked "Perfect Legend" hastily reapplying his gear. There were no first timers. You thought no one saw you, but I saw you. We all saw you. God I wish they'd ban people who do this shit. Imagine queuing a roulette but getting the same thing every day. That's all of us, thanks to you.
I agree actually. I really hated how there were plenty of smalls available in fc-only wards for weeks because FCs felt like they were too good for a small. They all saw it as their last resort option while they fought each other for mediums and larges that are just too big for the low furniture cap. Meanwhile, I'd have happily taken a small house because it's just my personal preference, but those homes are all locked from individual purchase. And continue to be. Week after week. As the supply of even those homes slowly dwindles due to shell FCs and real FCs finally "giving up" and being like "well if I MUST, then I'll DEIGN to buy a small" it's so frustrating as someone who actually wants a small as my first choice to watch these people basically get one for free and then whine because it's not a medium. Then they go to decorate it and they can't even manage that; they'll put some couches down and make it look like a basic apartment and just call it a day. I wish a HoA group were real in this game and could penalize these undecorated homes for making the neighborhood look like crap. You want your neighborhood feel, there it is.Small houses are the best. Best yard, best views, best item density due to the limit, and the other sizes are ridiculously large. Technically, that's snapshotted from the moment they hit the queue button. They don't need to reapply gear only upon entry. As such, it's every bit as likely you caught someone pulled out of their ERP session as having exploited the roulette.People who take off their gear to guarantee a crystal tower queue during alliance raid roulette deserve a 10 day ban, and the whole system should be changed so this can't happen in the first place. As someone who is actively playing 9 different characters in Guild Wars 2, one per class, I have to vehemently disagree. That is an example for player characters without an identity.
Not FF14 where, by virtue of the permanence of your one single character, they are more defined than if you kept swapping around who you're playing as.
"No matter how dark the night, morning always comes."
Hot take and/or conspiracy theory but the housing system is complete ass in this game because it was the result of outsourced and/or rushed development. There are other early game systems, such as the inventory system, in which Square Enix will actually explain the technical issues and lay out why magically fixing the system isn't an straightforward as you might think. Then there is housing which gets stringed along with band-aid fixes and for the large party, they're not really honest with us about the challenges needed to do anything major.
This would explain why the housing raffle was broken on release, they're simply trying to work around an ARR-era code base that's a complete mess and cannot be fixed without replacing the existing system entirely or sacrificing content elsewhere (another expansion with one ultimate and no deep dungeon anyone?) Instead of being honest about housing, they say the bare minimum to string players along because that's the PR and bank account friendly thing to do.
Completely unrelated to this but I have some spare Tin Foil Hat (HQ) if anybody would like one![]()
