This forum is a cesspool of the same identical repeated and tired whining about the same thing over and over again and it's extremely tiresome.
When you see that people have like 60-70 or even more of threads started in six months that are ALL negative and every single post they make is negative and the same repeat bs.
It's kinda suss, I don't understand how someone like that can still play the game if they're so mad all the time.
They're like a dedicated hater, like one of those '' anti-fans '' or whatever they're called.

People like that exist in WoW and other MMO's or genre of games too and I don't get it, if a game makes me that mad all the time I just quit...

The forum is basically a circle jerk of the same small minority of people constantly harping on about the same crap all the time and circlejerking about it and inject it into every thread they get a chance to and it's annoying as hell.
A lot of them seem to think that the devs are not giving them specifically what they want out of actual spite or '' laziness ''.
It's like an actual toddlers way of viewing it and how game development works.

And every time you push back against them at all you get accused of being a '' white knight '' and they turn on their victim mentality mode.
They treat people disagreeing with them as you breaking into their home and beating up their dog or something, even worse if the devs disagree with them then victim mentality mode will be engaged for years with constant demands of apologies from the dev team it's just lol...

My guess is that having a PC that is more powerful than the current console is fairly niche ( in the grand scheme of things ).
PC outpaces consoles rather quickly but only a small portion actually stays up to date.
Convenience and cost is part of the reason why consoles are so popular, I mean I think people leave out the cost for a TV that actually takes full advantage of consoles but still.

I definitely agree with Lustre tho in the sense that consoles are limiting the game in regards to systems.
Mouse and keyboard are just objectively better at a lot of things, the same could be said about controllers but that doesn't really apply to this genre.
FFXIV is definitely a game that suffers in certrain areas because of it being on console and needing to be playable with a controller.
I think ultimately both the players and consoles limit it in regards to how complex Jobs can be too.

Maybe it's due to the fact that SE never resolves a lot of these complaints you see over and over again. Also you state if something makes you mad you quit, why even post here then, nice logic. This is a complaint thread after all, people are allowed to vent. The reason you get called a "white knight" is SE makes billions of dollars, they don't need you defending them, they do however make a product that people PAY for, therefore they're allowed to complain about it.

People also forget that sometimes, quite often actually, products evolve through complaints and suggestions. And it's when you're this toxically averse to complaining and wanting improvements that your product gets stale and outdated.

Compared to the pile of hotbars I had to use on WoW, there's far less button management in XIV, so I still don't feel like that's a real problem. It just comes across as more "console bad, PC master race" rhetoric.

I was referring more to having to fit every job (comfortably) on a controller than I was graphical concerns. I find it hard to believe that most PC players have specs below that of either ps3s or ps4s tbh... everyone I know has 30 series cards, 16gb+ ram etc. I also dont believe any comparison can be made between a game from 01 which needed the expansion bay addon, from a time when people were still using dial up interner to xiv today, but of course people are cool to disagree. It was a hot take opinion, not a scientific thesis

I couldn't even find an affordable 3000 series or equivalent card.

Controller players can easily fit 32 (l2, r2, l2r2, r2l2); this can be expanded to 48 (l2l2, r2r2) or even 50 (mapping macros like sprint, lb, focus target to l3 and r3). They're not holding job design back.

I play with a controller, and you use every gcd on every class, so it really doesn't matter which job I play.

But yes, I prefer healing. I'm leveling ast, drk and sam atm.

1. you should be happy you simply have a full party. it literally doesn't matter how bad people's DPS is in msq content.
2. if you're obsessed with having the highest DPS then why are you always the first to desperately spam the LB button
3. people who say things like "this is arr content nobody needs an explanation for titan hard" or "you don't need to explain Amon" are the ones who will die first. they'll take several bombs to the face followed by being knocked out of the arena or they'll ignore slimes and then scream at the healers for not healing them when they're all silenced
4. your impatience and rushing is making things take even longer. this is really obvious in crystal tower raids when 50-70% of the people just rush to the stairs when the enemies are still spawning in. same goes for tanks who wait until a group is down to 40% HP and then run away to pull more. you are literally wasting more time trying to be fast.
5. to all healers — and i say this as an ex-healer main until the middle of shb where i changed to tank — just shut up and throw a regen on the person you have deemed an idiot. if they die that's their lesson to learn. you giving it 200% to save an idiot from themselves only encourages them to remain bad at the game and later on when they're level 90 they become insufferable and blame everyone except themselves.
