Anyone who really wants to decorate the actual house can do so through the mentioned social means. Just find a lonely house owner in the eternal bond thread and you get your house access for little bit of attention. There aren't enough houses for everyone, but through sharing anyone can access the whole feature if they really want to play with it.

The main reason why the Party Finder is not working for the harder content and so many groups disband after few wipes is caused by the players who ignore the comments.

Getting to the phase XYZ once does not mean you are ready to join parties to do XYZ.

Parties should spend most of the time doing the phase that is written in the comment not trying to get there.

The game and it's staff have already long delivered on their promise that everyone has access to housing. But if it's primary ownership that you seek then you will be out of luck.
Fortunately, ownership is not required to participate in and enjoy housing to the fullest.

All housing from apartments to premium tier housing (with an actual house and lawn) and their features such as gardening and workshop are fully within reach and accessible through sharing for every player.

    Examples:

    - Having a friend who has a house and is willing to share is a great cost saver for you and you do not need to upkeep your own subscription.

    - Finding a tight knit FC which is willing to allow you access to the extended features of an FC house is not difficult if you avoid every wholesale large FC advertising in town.

    - People who are hiring a gardener, a decorator, even a workshop guru. There are house and FC owners who simply do not have time to focus on these things and would like to have someone do it for them.

Ultimately, the path to housing requires you to be social and make new friends. The very goal of housing in general as a bonus social feature. Nobody is truly gated or locked out of housing and it's offerings if you are willing to make friends and build trust with people in your community.

If you are unable or unwilling to do any or some form of the above examples, then you will be at the mercy of the lottery.

    Most? Really?
    • All housing has stupidly low limits on placeables. Apartments get a massive (pfft) budget of 100.
    • Cannot share an apartment with friends
    • Cannot be used as a guild hall
    • Cannot place outdoor decorations, which means...
    • No access to plant cross-breeding
    • No access to workshops or anything that depends on those
Apartments are the McGuffey Reader of housing.

Oh well, that happens too. In the meantime, go snag your apartment so you have some housing, then use this list of Lamia plots to get your entry in for your first upgrade.

    Mist, Ward 19, Plot 54 - 16 entries
    Mist, Ward 20, Plot 12 - 18 entries
    Mist, Ward 23, Plot 16 - 10 entries
    The Goblet, Ward 19, Plot 57 - 4 entries
    The Goblet, Ward 20, Plot 40 - 4 entries
    The Goblet, Ward 22, Plot 44 - 11 entries
    The Goblet, Ward 22, Plot 58 - 3 entries
    Shirogane, Ward 20, Plot 59 - 34 entries
    Shirogane, Ward 22, Plot 26 - 29 entries
    Shirogane, Ward 22, Plot 57 - 35 entries

Those entry numbers will move, but if you wait until the last day then probably check out those Goblets and throw your hat in the ring, it will be your best chance, I'd say.

Exactly like the real life. Anyways... being social is something you can do yourself inside of the current limitations while waiting in the lottery. I shared my houses before and was the tenant too - having someone else use the house with you is much better experience than rotting there alone with the hoarder capitalist beast.

All the houses have issues with the item budget - especially mansions which is the best irony. Rest of the points can be done through FC houses and there are plenty of friendly FCs that would allow you to use the features.

    Yes most.

Two on your list are FC items, and they are still a little easier to get than personals. As for the item limits, it's about the same as a small per floor.

That leaves sharing, cross breeding, and 20 outside items (small).

But stayin positive and not just seeing everything as hopeless - so much of the rest of housing needs are filled despite those 3 shortcomings. People need to stop turning their noses up at this option while they wait, and while we all keep pushing SE for something better.

One doesn't expect one's first RL house to be a southern mansion on 25 hectares of manicured lawn and a butler. Your first RL house is likely a sharehouse, or a single room in the worst part of town. And although the apartment does have those limits, if someone is truly keen on housing then it's better than being homeless while they work up to something better using progression.

If housing really is important to one there isn't any sense having blinkers on because apartments aren't perfect. They are something, and they do still fill a lot of the needs of housing - just not all.

SE need to look at this better, lottery has caused a real surge in unhappy people. And that's not good for anyone, us or them.

Ultimates are broken and should not be advertised.
They are just to hard and many people will never be able to clear them.
Why do they advertise a thing that not everyone can easy obtain?

Housing is not broken and it works as intended.
It was first intended for FCs only but they extended it to the player.
The lottery system was broken but now is fixed.
Is it good? I don't know, i have a house. But I know that many player wanted a system like that for years.

... you cannot be seriously suggesting someone essentially find a sugar daddy/mommy just to have housing access? If that doesn't highlight how incredibly flawed the whole system is, I don't know what else will. As for Apartments and FC rooms. They're little more than band-aid fixes which low item counts. At the end of the day, housing is being advertised to the masses but not even half the playerbase can get one. Other games will far less the budget and backing of Square Enix have done significantly better. People really need to stop making excuses for a shoddy system that should have been overhauled years ago.

This is a Strawman. Ultimate is advertised only to the high end raid community and offers precisely what's advertised: extremely challenging battle content. Meanwhile, housing is advertised towards the general community at large and treated as a major feature for everyone to partake in. A better comparison is only the first 1,000 players will receive an Ultimate Weapon upon clearing. Or we can have a lottery among those who have cleared and they each get a chance between the four current Ultimate weapons. You can only claim one and once you have one, you can't get the others. I'm certain that would go over well. Put simply if you took this broken system and applied it to literally any other piece of content: Savage, Ultimate, Tome gear, EX Mount and so forth—all now having a limited restriction on how many players can actually obtain them, the backlash would be immense.

The housing system entire design is what's broken. Supply is so far off demand they'll never come close to reaching it and every solution they've come up with has been one band-aid after another. Like I said above, games with far less the budget of Square Enix have done comically better.

cam you provided sources to these housing adverts? Never seen them. Also look up what a strawman argument is.
