Just wanna say, I really enjoy healing in this game.

I like the balance of exciting heal checks, DPSing in the background, and occasional bursts. I like how all the healers have unique abilities; although some things feel similar, there's enough differences that I can switch between them to get some extra variety in my dailies/weeklies. And recently, I've been really enjoying the Ultimate challenge in Dragonsong Reprise. I'm glad I'm playing WHM for it, because I've got a lot of quick healing tools, and don't have to manage as much stuff as AST while doing mechanics, so it feels very smooth and powerful.

Anybody else want to share some healer positivity?

I started the game in patch 3.1. I think I started as a healer in 3.2. Been healing ever since. Went through all the changes, never stopped. Still healing to this day and will probably keep doing so.

I don't try to play at top performance 100% of the time nor do I give a crap about optimization. This instantly removes all the issues people keep complaining about, leaving healing fun regardless.

    What's your favourite heal check?

Mine was Kefka part 2, right from the opening bell that fight pulled no punches. Even the door boss dealt some pretty serious pain when he stopped casting for a few moments during the phase transitions.

Probably E12S p2. It wasn't actually that hard, but I was playing AST at the time, and everything seemed to line up well for the AST kit. And the final soft-enrage was brutal (until you had enough DPS to skip it, lol).

Oh, or TEA of course. Lots of varied heal checks in there, multi-hit party-wides, some stacked, some spread apart, three big hits after Wormhole, lots tankbusters and auto-spam in phase 1 and 2.

I think P4S p2 draws a lot of inspiration from E12S p2, the healing requirements during Act IV and Curtain Call are highlights for sure.

While this might seem a bit odd if most people are thinking savages and ultimates... I really enjoyed the Endwalker healer role quests. The fights therein really captured that feeling of being a healer first for me, and making me not feel redundant while on the role.

You're amazing. Can I hire you? seriously, it would be amazing to get all of the problems we have just solved with a wave of your hands so dismissively where I work.

Edited as i realize that i could genuinely come off a somewhat angry there- however- if you are happy - fantastic! However- it is the "instantly removes all the issues people keep complaining about'- this has me baffled for the rest of "us"

How do you get exciting heal checks , and interest when you mostly hit "1" with occasional "2" in a large part of the content, with the timed heals in the majority of content? I'm not making this up, there's quite a bit of evidence for this.

Especially if, as you say you're someone who's at the Ultimate level, even there you're going to be spamming Malefic for likely 70 % of your skills.

a8s at min ilv is probably the best healer experience the game has to offer, especially during the robot phase. tanks getting constantly smacked hard, every other auto attack is a quasi-buster, brawler randomly switches between tankbuster, party damage, or single target on 1 or 2 pty members. when the orbs appear one tank is getting double smacked, another is taking huge damage from the small orbs AND the party is getting blasted by brawler and big orbs at the same time. then you finally have to deal with cyclone, bio arithmetics, puddles and compressed lightning. all of this while doing mechanics. chefs kiss. nothing comes even close

bjcc is also a lot of fun, its one of the few times ive ever let a tank die to auto attacks because they caught me off guard from how hard they hit.

e4s at the end was also a lot of fun because of the heavy dot and consecutive raidwides, i wish all of e4s p2 had hit that hard or had a similar dot to deal with. e11s at the end was also a lot of fun to heal. same with e2s. im noticing a pattern where all the fun stuff to heal in recent fights is like, usually at the very end of 10 minute long fights. why?? even in dragonsong theres barely any stuff to heal until rewind haurchefant (p5)

I used to enjoy healing, before Shadowbringers. These days... eh.
