Healing in this game offers me satisfaction through fantasy, glamour, and generic mmo healer responsibilities.
Can’t say the same from the gameplay aspect though.

I enjoy the queue times for healing. Rescue also feels great when you defy all logic to save someone with it. The healer Limit Break 3 is also really fun to pull off. I wish the basic gameplay loop was more satisfying but hopefully that will change for the better soon.
I mean i can enjoy it in this game but it gets super stale quick.
I just wish they reworked SCH and WHM
give sch all the dot and dot related stuff that SMN lost and make WHM some combo mage for light and elements similar to how BLM and RDM go through different types of spells.
100% with you. Healing in this game is honestly a ton of fun. It has some nice challenge and nuance, and it feels powerful and functional in all the right ways. Love it a lot. So I share in your positivity. Having a blast doing it all the time, and I've been playing since...2013? 2.3 or so.I like the balance of exciting heal checks, DPSing in the background, and occasional bursts. I like how all the healers have unique abilities; although some things feel similar, there's enough differences that I can switch between them to get some extra variety in my dailies/weeklies. And recently, I've been really enjoying the Ultimate challenge in Dragonsong Reprise. I'm glad I'm playing WHM for it, because I've got a lot of quick healing tools, and don't have to manage as much stuff as AST while doing mechanics, so it feels very smooth and powerful.
Anybody else want to share some healer positivity?

WHM has always been a simple healer, and as much as people talk about old healer complexity, in SB, the only extra damage it had was one more DoT (you didn't use Aero 3 in single target, just 1 and 2) and shifted in and out of Cleric stance in HW (in SB it was just a damage boost CD, so basically what we use Presence of mind for today). I honestly don't understand people wanting to make it into something much more complicated when, at its most ever complicated, it had...one more DPS button than today. (MAYbe a second from Cross-Classing, but I think it was SCH that Cross-Classed Aero not the other way around...)
Me personally, I feel like this is what SGE should be. It already does its splash healing from Kardia, so if any of the healers having a "DPS-lite rotation" (kinda like GNB for tanks) made sense for, it would make sense for SGE. Having something like RDM's caster rotation (~5 buttons + finisher, which could just be a reworked Pneuma or Phelgma or Toxicon) and the bulk of its healing could be based on moving Kardia around, and probably having CDs to get Kardia to do an AOE heal or boosted heal like Soteria kind of stuff. Maybe a second "short duration" (~10 sec) Kardia they could place on a second target (that could even stack with the first for extra healing) that had a 30/60 sec CD and 10 sec duration that would work vaguely like AST's Synastry to heal more than one target. There's a lot they could do with that if they wanted to.
SGE is basically already set up to be a RIFT Chloromancer or a WoW Discipline Priest with Kardia. When it was first announced, I GENUINELY thought this was the route they were going to go with it where it'd have a kind of "DPS-lite" rotation and heal primarily through Kardia.

So far we've got "Healing is engaging in Ultimate", "Healing is fun if you stop trying to play well" and "WHM is the simple healer, buttons are bad". The usual.
I'm noping out of this one, we've been here a hundred times.

The healing role however... not so much. AST is a clusterf* of trying to keep your abilities on CD; with SGE I don't even know what to do with all these heals; and SCH is a shadow of its former self. Even playing WHM in DSR gives me enough time for resting my eyes for a couple of seconds midfight.
While I don't heal much in pve, I use healers almost exclusively in pvp.
After the lastest pvp rework, I have found SCH in Frontlines and AST in CC the most rewarding.
I like AST's card more now, about only thing I miss are, "spamable" heals. Though, I know I know, everyone has self-heal now. It'd still be cool to help the group out with healing.
I don't think even the most jaded veteran healer will disagree that healers are atleast interesting to play in pvp.While I don't heal much in pve, I use healers almost exclusively in pvp.
