I completely agree with Theodric that "just play another game" that is so commonly used to deflect criticism is a poor attempt at silencing it. It's dismissive, it ignores every point the poster makes, it doesn't even try to see things from their perspective. It's just telling them to fuck off.
You can disguise everything as "just my opinion bro" by putting an "I think" before it. Doesn't make "just play something else" any less dismissive and ignorant. If someone is happy with something that is great. But telling unhappy people to fuck off is not. This isn't even disagreeing, you are perfectly capable to disagree with something without behaving like that. You can say that you're happy and why without telling others to just play a different game.
Surely that can't be such a difficult concept to grasp?

You are correct. But I think it's fair to say if people are expecting FFXIV to have constant task farming like Lost Ark, maybe they should play Lost Ark instead? Atleast for me, using the phrase "look for something else" means the core philosophy of the game doesn't agree with what the individual wants. Obviously one game can't be so perfect as to satisfy everyone, which is why other options exists. It isn't to dismiss the other opinion but provide the alternative if what I believe the game is doesn't align with what other people are expecting out of it.

You are correct, I completely ignored it and didnt address it, because it jumps over my point.

That both sides have an opinion no matter what. Voice them. If you feel the need to fight somebody because they dont agree with you, or you think you are being silenced and dismissed because somebody disagreed, I question how much you believe in what your saying that your gonna sit here and get upset and cry foul over it.
Nobody told anybody to F-Off, this is an over-reaction to people who feel their right to makes criticisms are being taken away...and I find it humorously sad.

Its as simple as that. To call that Dismissive and say this is an attempt to silence...when all its saying is, there might be a better game to suit what you want and your looking for.
