MMORPG doesn't mean you have to team up with everyone all the time, it means that many, many people are all playing in the same virtual world and can interact with each other. It doesn't mean that everyone should have to party to get things done or have fun. You see 1,000 people any given day? more? less? do you need these people helping you to do everything you do in your day?.... why should you HAVE to in the game? You can't go into the bar without a party of eight! (a stupid example to be sure, but hopefully you take my meaning)
Even though you solo'd, that doesn't make it content they made for you to just take one party member and you have to beat an epic boss.
