Gameplay-wise, there's no other game in the market that evolved as fast as FFXIV is doing.

Molly millions is perfectly right, any kind of experience in or around game development would confirm that.
How has FFXIV evolved? Its gotten no where lol. Its still pretty much the same game as release. Should I praise them that a quest system has been implemented? NO because all MMOs have this and it was a copy/paste system so it wasn't even built from scratch just built on top of.

See things like re-hauling a bunch of classes I can understand taking a while, but just copy/pasting systems or building on top of the current framework (which btw they're doing both extremely poorly right now) should not be difficult or time consuming tasks. The fundamentals should be there, if they're not then Crystal Tools is the issue.

Why do people think building content or simple tweaking or implementing much needed systems require a lot of work? Infact not a lot of what SE are doing should be taking as long as it should, especially when other companies do just fine.

I recently compared 2 updates in similar timeframes between TERA and XIV. XIV had a seperation of 25 days while TERA 14 days and TERA has a massive amount of tweaks, fixes, changes, its not content and it has soooooo much more than this game being fixed.

This recent update was just tweaks and fixes. That is it, and it lacks.

No it's not. The UI has been almost completely overhauled. Every single menu has been streamlined towards usability and ease of display of information, from selling, to crafting, to repairing, chatting, map, equipment, stats... there's almost no part of the UI that has been left untouched. They turned the market wards in an almost full fledged AH system, added new equipment, new guildleves, overhauled a large percentage of the crafting recipes, completely changed the server structure by multiplying the number of servers in the cluster, removed basically all lag issues, completely overhauled the skill points system and leveling curve, overhauled the guildleve system, both for local and regional, added NMs and relative prizes and so forth. You can recheck the patch notes if you like, and you'll notice a LOT of changes that you probably already forgot.

This counts as a quite massive overhaul of the basics of the game, many systems haven't been tweaked, but they have been rethought from the ground up. Tweaking a system that's already in place takes much less. And if you compare the tweaks added to tera, without falling into the obvious trap as considering content that has been already in development for months as something that has been developed on the spot snapping fingers, then you'll see that FFXIV is evolving quite faster.

This, of course, without even mentioning that tera is a much simpler game than Final Fantasy XIV is. It's based on older gameplay and class mechanics that have already been worked upon by developers for ages. balancing those is much, much easier than a game based on an innovative class system.

This recent update was just tweaks and fixes. That is it, and it lacks.
We were already told that significant updates (besides the fact that tweaks of an important system like targeting is quite significant) would have been delayed to april, for a very valid reason, so what are you surprised about, exactly?

Because people might actually have the experience needed to *know* that it does, instead of basing their opinion on educated (or actually quite random) guessing.

I would appreciate this too. that'd save me the harm I will need to soon inflict on my wallet to get the new version of Sony vegas. Thank you.

I agree. what's sad here is that we all want the game to be good. It's probably because of the white knights that have made the designers stick to what they've got and now they're doing just minor tweaks. The fact is that everyone constantly asking people with negative opinions of XIV to leave you need them like you would not believe. People half-quitting the game are the most likely people that these patches can bring back. PS3 release is not going to bring as much players as PC edition did. Every Console/PC MMO I've played has had most players using the PC.

Btw congrats for the guy who got so stuck on the word "broken" that he/she refused to see the synonyms for it =) Oh dear.

Personally to me the only thing that has visibly changed in the game is the UI is a LOT faster than in Beta. I can't even tell what leves are new as they're all alike to me.
