FCs in Personal Wards must leave.

I will agree I don't really like the splitting of wards between FC and private. I do understand why they did it though. To me it seems like housing was made more for FCs anyway, since there is more for an FC to do with a house than a private owner, namely the workshop. So, they want to make sure that FCs can get a house without the issue of having private owners bidding and beating out FCs. The issue though is that the number of wards they set aside for FCs is far higher than the demand. This leaves private owners fighting over fewer spaces. I think a better idea would have been to have the first lottery of new wards be split, but closer to half and half, between FC and private to allow for both to have enough mediums and larges to go around. Then after the first lottery open all wards up to both. This way any left over plots can be gotten without having to look at private only wards filled up while FC wards sit half empty. I do hope though that they add more private bid wards sooner rather than later.

Rather they just remove personal houses altogether and focused on improving apartments so those could be personal homes, upgradable sizes, outdoor furniture able to be used indoors, exterior housing walls changing walls interior.

This, but only for apartments. Why can't I have a 2 floor apartment with as much space as a personal house for 2M gil? I don't get the "prestige" of having a house, or the outside decorations, but I hsoud at least be able to have the inside availability to enjoy my apartment.

This is just yet another salty thread wanting to take things away from other people for your own gain, when you should be whining to SE to fix their horrendous supply issue. I find it laughable that housing is an advertised feature of this game and yet it is so exclusive.

You know ... over the year, the housing threads such as this one serve as an explanation for me why our politic works the way it is. It's such a sad reality that people are so easy to bed conditioned and manipulated into thinking their problem lie with their fellows instead of the system. I don't think anyone will ever be able to explain to me how people with full command of their faculties can be this shortsighted and gulliable.

It is abundantly clear at this point that FCs must leave Wards 19-24 to make room for personal player homes. SE has made it clear they have no intention of changing the FC/Personal ward split anytime soon so it is up to players to step up and fix this housing crisis.

There are PLENTY of open FC plots in FC wards which is where FCs belong. It is not fair that a grandfathered FCs can take a plot meant for a player. Sure it wasn't against the ToS when they bought the plot, but they are taking up precious space when they have alternatives - a luxury private players do not have.

By staying in a PERSONAL ward you are denying housing to other players AND allowing an RMT shell FC to take a spot during the next lottery. I don't know which is worse.

If players can't step up and do the right thing then I propose that SE gives these noncompliant FCs a 30 day warning to get their homes in FC wards. If they do not want to comply then give them a full gil refund of their plot.

So you want me to relinquish the medium plot in ward 24 I got up super early for on my day off upon the new ward release a couple years ago, scraped up a lot of the gil for with help, bumrushed and prayed to the Twelve to beat a queue AND load timer and other people to, just so you can have a plot that was reassigned to be personal years later?

You can pry my medium FC's house from me and my fc mates' cold, dead hands and give me a large estate in a proper ward in return.

The housing issue is actually a combination of a system problem and a player base problem.

The system part of it being that the housing prices have not changed to reflect the rate of inflation the game economy has had since the feature was added resulting in nearly every player easily getting the gil to purchase a plot. This would be like if housing prices IRL in the US hadn't been adjusted for inflation since 1940 and were still at the same prices now as they were back then. Pretty sure just about everyone would want a house IRL in that scenario as well with a demand far outpacing the supply.

The Player base part of it is that you have a considerable amount of players that only want a house because it's a limited supply. Some doing so just to be able to say they have a house. Others atleast in the past playing scalper doing the same things as those ppl that bought out all the PS5's at launch then tried to sell them at over a 200% mark-up on things like ebay.

Those things only happen because of the system design that makes it a limited supply problem in the first place.

No limited supply and no demand from those who want something only because it's rare.

No limited supply and there's no potential for profit from resale.

No limited supply and there's no need for a lottery with only one winner and dozens (or even hundreds) of losers.

The only reason future FCs are going to end up in danger of not being able to get a house is because more and more players are leaving their current FCs to form shell FCs so they can get a house for personal use in one of the FC wards.

I was cruising around some of the Empyreum FC wards yesterday and found several houses owned by FCs that only have 1-3 members. That number is only going to increase as the FC wards become the only way for a player to get a house.

FC houses rarely end up houses for multiple people. They end up houses for the FC Master, and sometimes the FC officers. The rest of the FC may not even get visitation rights depending on what the FC master wants.

That is why there is a demand for personal houses - it is the only way (short of being a FC Master/officer or creating a shell FC) for players to get participate in the features that come with a house.

I get how you're feeling. I'm bummed about not winning anything, too. But there's no point biting each others heads off over this. All we can do is hope that square looks at the state of FC wards and opens a few of them for individual purchasers.
For whatever it's worth, the FC I'm in tried to move to another ward, and had dozens of other FCs competing against us, so we lost. I bet a few of them were shell FCs, too. Like, don't hate the player. Hate the stupid system that enables this BS.
