The thing with third-party tools is that you have to understand the motivations behind their use if you want to ultimately deal with the issue. Maybe it's a cool outfit/hairstyle, or an emote/pose, or a quality of life feature, or something that helps high-end raiders discern certain debuffs, amongst others. If SE want to deal with the problem, then they need to listen to players, and not be so aggressively overzealous with the ToS hammer against players who ultimately haven't created a negative experience for anyone else, or whomst have what would be an unfair gameplay advantage.
agreed. The whole idea of "you can use 3rd party tools but dont tell anyone" isnt sustainable as you can see from the several streamers that openly use mods and havent been banned. as someone pointed out in the past some mods like visual mods are deemed ok by SE because theyve accepted photos altered by visual mods into their photography contests before. The thing with third-party tools is that you have to understand the motivations behind their use if you want to ultimately deal with the issue. So how about the devs congratulating the world first clear of Alex Ultimate on twitter with that spiffy screenshot with the dps meter? Better rev up those pitchforks, I smell foul play. :^)

This is just a stupid statement. Of course, they can check your computer, but they don't want to. You don't need a full-blown anti-cheat to check the integrity of your client-side files whenever you run the application. It happens all the time, with no noticeable loss of performance.
Some applications even go so far as to stop an application from running if the file structure of the client is compromised in any way. They have used the excuse that since their cyber security is good server-side, they don't need to do anything client-side. Most companies would treat anything that could potentially access their network to be a threat if tampered with.
how appalling. how can the devs congratulate these people when they committed the cardinal sin of using a dps meter?!?!
