What the characters consider wrong is not what we have to consider wrong. It's either bad always or good always. I will not make an exception for genocide. They knew it was a possibility and went along with it anyways. The point is, genocide in the world of 14 is very complicated, a lot of the time its used as a way for the protagonists to pave the way forward and isnt really judged. It seems that its only seen as wrong in game when its the antagonists doing it even if it would mean less death in the long run.
Okay and thats your opinion. Unfortunately though that doesnt seem to be what the game agrees on and thats what we have to talk about. Not really what we believe but what the game believes. My point is, the protagonists have only succeeded and been around due ot genocide, so i dont think its entirely wrong for the ancients to want to bring back what they had taken from them, especially if it results in less death in the world overall.

Characters being around because of genocide is awful, and simply the way it is. If AU's are real then we can't change history. If AU's aren't real then it's a massive thing to consider. I don't think a few can make an decision like that for that many people. It's just not ok. I'd prefer the characters understand that horrible things that happened in the past and try to do better in the future. Not do other horrible things to "fix" the wrong doings of the past.Okay and thats your opinion. I mean i agree with that, but in universe thats now how things are portrayed. Theres a lot of double standards and its hwy i use the ironworks example a lot. Its framed that the ancients should just "move on." Yet, ironworks didnt move on. They could have, but they didnt and instead worked to undo the calamity the same way the ancients want to undo the calamity of the sundering. Except in for ironworks its painted as right and okay, for the ancients its painted as horrible, wrong, or hubris. Thats my point. If they went with genocide period is wrong id be more sympathetic to the sundered. But the way that its described in game is that, its okay when WE doi it, its only wrong when others do it. Thats why in game im of the mind of team rejoining. It amounts to less death overall, and i sympathize far more with the ancients who actually had to suffer and didnt have everything handed to them like the sundered do, but thats just my opinion.Characters being around because of genocide is awful, and simply the way it is. A common criticism of the game is inconsistency. It seems like you bought the koolaid of subjective morality. I don't really care of the game says it's ok for some people to do wrong things or not. It's still a wrong thing and it's bad writing to try to do it that way. That's one of my biggest issues with the game overall. Grey morality is fine, but be consistent at least.I mean i agree with that, but in universe thats now how things are portrayed.
