When you view the belief systems that give rise to such thinking as a cult, it makes a lot more sense. Personally, as a gay guy, I have no interest in seeing every game end up having a gay character in it. I'd rather see developers focus on making interesting and enjoyable games without worrying about treating everything like a quota to fulfil.

Yeah it just strikes me as insane levels of overcompensation lol.
I mean I am exaggerating now but it has this weird eugenics feel to it, like we're really at the point where we're scoring people based on these types of characteristics?

I just kinda feel sorry for the sane devs, I don't think this is actually a widely approved of thing I think most people are just scared of speaking out against it because they don't want to get fired and I imagine certain people just run rampant at the office ( especially after the controversies at Blizzard ).
Like imagine actually working with these kinds of people who unironically not only push for these things but develop them.

It's not like I think having more diversity is a bad thing, but this is like taking it to some absurd and downright creepy levels.

They are trying to boost their image after years of fostering a hellish workplace. That's all. Unfortunately for them, that is a permanent stain on their reputation. No amount of "diversity" is ever going to make that right, especially when every gesture is as hollow as this one.

That's the price of doing business in America. ActiBlizz isn't the first and won't be the last. You can do just about anything and if you prove that you are trying most people will forgive and forget.

And honestly the fact that we can at least Whistleblow here is a good thing. People tend to not know that most Eastern(Japan included) countries have laws in place that even if you are telling the truth, that if you bring a negative light on a company they can sue you for Defamation.
