I think those were recorded at their home studios, which might be wholly ill equipped for professional voice over work
he wasn't the only one that sounded off in that patch, but iirc it's still the same VA

yeah it completely took me out of it too at first, but (spoilers)

the next time he speaks he sounds more normal again - unless I'm completely misremembering this and he doesn't talk anymore

Yeah, I too had short, but recurring lags in instances areas/duties these last few days.

on Aether here, ive been having reoccurring ping spikes of up to 500-600… my average ping is 80-90 without a VPN. it’s insane!

Word of warning for anyone who got the cookbook and wants to make the crab croquettes, it makes a LOT. We made it yesterday, and now we've got two bowls stuffed full of leftovers on top of eating them for two days. Maybe try halving the recipe first. I mean, they're good, it's just a lot.

The knight's bread is really good, too. Haven't tried anything else yet.

I haven't bought one in years, but I used to love buying gaming magazines so I could get my hands on the demo discs and see previews/reviews of upcoming games.

At least companies do still occasionally do "betas". It's what made me content with my decision to refund something like BF2042, really dodged a bullet there. Like I've said before, I usually don't preorder games, and when I do I am usually content in the game, this would have been one of those cases of me getting burned again - just like with that fake RPG Cyberpunk - if I hadn't refunded. Reminds me of how the early access for Endwalker, even if it has issues, should serve as a nice stress test for SE.

Speaking of demo discs.. I don't even have a disc drive connected, and I bet they will start doing away with them altogether sooner or later for console too! Well, I have a disc drive, but it's in my closet. I haven't had the need to actually use it for... quite awhile.

The actual royal menagerie in Ala Mhigo is beautiful. I wish they'd add some of that coloring into the Goblet. Goblet remains my favorite residential district, but it has another layer of potential they can tap into, and I'd think it wouldn't be improbable to make the kinds of adjustments I'd suggest.
Adding just a little colorful veggies/bushes and some eye catching tile work would really liven it up a little more.
