Anyway... There's one thing between your anecdote and this situation that doesn't line up. SE has zero ways of knowing whether you use add-ons or not. Unless you're reported with a solid proof that it's indeed a thing. The rule and enforcement always worked if that was the case. And in this regard nothing changed. They don't hunt you down unless you're brought to their attention with the proof of your guilt
