If bosses have enrages then parsers are necessary. Parsers in and of themselves are merely tools. Tools are not toxic. People are, and I have met far more toxic snowflakes who don’t parse than I have who do.There is no grey area in use of things whenever it get to it, but it is ok... if they are tired of people parsing, they can just terminate the combat log entirely, you may see numbers on the screen but they are not recorded to anything kind of thing.
And I personally think that would be a good thing, as it could raise the bar of players to actually use the combat dummies that determine, if you can reach the amount of damage needed personally to be able to clear whatever content.
Having read the source-code for Cactbot myself, it's a lot more involved than that. There are a lot of fight specific behaviors programmed into it, allowing it to not just make calls but to actually solve mechanics with RNG elements and more complex reads.Technically speaking Cactbot and similar don't need to interact with the game either. Since the timelines for fights in this game are so strict, you could just whip up a program where you start a timer when you pull, then at T + 1:15 it says like "Stack for so-and-so" no interaction needed.
An example would be in DSR, where in Wyrmhole it's able to make different callouts based on assessing multiple buffs on different targets.
Yeah, that’s a bit much and I don’t think many would argue in favor. However, the vast majority of people who use add-ons are using QOL plugins and a parser. None of which harm others or give them an advantage. Finally, all this is hypocritical to me. People got no issue with bots who farm and make the MB prices cheap.Having read the source-code for Cactbot myself, it's a lot more involved than that. No, no they're not. Because even with enrage you are able to do it without them. Parsers however do speed up the process by outright spellin out who lags behind and in case of extra tools designed to work with them can give you a solution. Thing is that dedicated group will reach similar conclusions eventually. Parsers will just speed up the process.
Sadly though we see our dependence on add-on tools take deeper and deeper believing the game forces us to use them. It doesn't.
Yeah no. That's objectively false.Yeah, that’s a bit much and I don’t think many would argue in favor. However, the vast majority of people who use add-ons are using QOL plugins and a parser. Parsers have been around since the first MMOs. They are necessary, even if only to speed up progress. They are necessary to check your own improvement. I could keep going. No, no they're not. The game doesn’t force us to use them, no. However, if the game is lacking something the player base is going to find a way. Most add-ones are merely QOL anyway.
If you are failing to hit enrage, parsers tell you what you are doing wrong. No, no they're not. Because even with enrage you are able to do it without them. Your point being? Again what parsers tell the player is what said player would eventually figure out. What I'm trying to say it's not enrage or any other mechanic that makes Parsers obligatory tool in some people eyes. It's our nature and desire for fast answers. It's easier and faster to offload all the heavy work onto the machine and that's what we want even on higher level of play.
Yes, and? Does hitting level 90 magically implants some hidden secrets of the universe onto me?You are not even max level. go enjoy the story

Pretty sure all addons is against ToS sense their third-party programs. Didn't Yoshi say to could use them at your own risk.
Well you find out all these lovely things like tight dps checks, rotations, uptime and downtime and one bloody annoying orange bird.Your point being?
