    Let's not forget the issues this caused with healers. First they got no xp at all unless they also attacked and then they got xp from healing but depending on how much damage the party took could end up being very little compared to the rest of the group since it was based on amount of hp healed. I don't want to out level my healer in a party. They are hard enough to come by as it is.

    it was a system that promoted people to play poorly on purpose, and everyone knew it. The slower a monster died, the more damage people took, and the less healers healed, the more experience everyone received.

    Hence why nobody who was sane liked it.

    They can make it every time you hit you get x exp. Of course that would be adjusted by the weapon speed.

    And to encourage better play there can be end exp as well.

    There's no way in hell they are going back to the old way of leveling up. I'm pretty sure the majority of players would despise that change. It was changed for a reason. /thread

    they already have something called chains the faster you kill the more bonus you get. this encourages the whole party to fight because the faster you kill the more xp you get.

    Again, to encourage better play there can be end exp as well, faster you kill the mob more exp at the end.

    That's a good question, I wonder~ You can help me on that one.

    I like the spirit of what you're saying. Contribution during combat and getting rid of this afk-powerleveling garbage. I hate powerleveling with a passion.

    However, the original system was very frustrating. Inconsistent SP gains, melee getting more than healers when both classes were equally doing their jobs, casters beating on things with their wands, unnecessarily drawing out fights. My husband and I were a PGL/CNJ duo, and after a night of doing the same leves, we'd have to go out and grind so I could catch up because his PGL always 'stole' all my SP. He'd switch to his GLD and take the hits while I finished off the monsters.

    The original system was totally jacked up and needed to change. And to be honest, it isn't to blame for the powerleveling epidemic we have now. That was facilitated by Yoshi-P who said he was fine with PLing, unfortunately. :/

    All they have to do to fix PL is make it so you cant drop party in combat, thats the way it used to be then they changed it. SE knows thats all they have to do and they dont do it, therefore they must not care that much.
