I've always built to last, in a way. I had 2 gtx 570s, then 2 770s, the a 980ti. Now I have a 3080. I still primarily play games on ps5 tho, I only have a few games I play on pc (XIV being one of them, I can't controller)Makes sense. You've got the kind of GPU power that I'd wager less than 1% of people who primarily game have access to. I was mainly referring to typical cards people have. Last I checked the 1060 is still the most popular card on steam, with a decent chunk still being represented by the 900 series cards.

Nice. How did you manage to get your hands on a 3080. Everywhere I go the prices are still astronomical. They're supposed to MSRP for $699, but the prices I'm seeing are closer to $1000 after taxes.

We recognize our UI is terrible in a lot of ways and could use improvement, but we're still gonna ban you for improving it.

Nobody is getting banned for things that modify their local game. It gets sketchy when you start using stuff that interacts with the servers, but even then, I'm willing to bet most people who don't get in the spotlight will be fine
Kudo's to Yoshi for being willing to look at UI modifications that are more QOL things. I will be happy for the people that feel the need to mod to get hats on Hrothgar's if it actually gets implemented into the game itself.
That said I also give Kudo's to Yoshi for being willing to actually enforce the rules as written. An unenforced rule is a useless rule. Games have rules and ideally all players abide by them.
Realistically many people do not abide by them. Those that are dumb enough to stream their rule breaking deserve what they get. I just hope the botters finally get cleaned up. Not holding out a huge amount of hope but there is still some there.
I personally refuse to use 3rd party tools. The game is just fine as released for the way I play it. I understand it is not for others. All I can say to them is be careful out there.
If modders and tool makers can fix XIV's animation lock latency issues, why can't SE? Why punish those that are victims of SE's subpar handling of latency? Why design jobs around double weaves, then get mad at those just trying to be able to double weave?

Who knows, there have been glaring issues that have been unfixed since 2.0. Modders fix them for SE and SE just turns around and ban the users LOL
Ah yes, Developers going to war with modders who are fixing their game, yet being completely happy to yoink their ideas. A tale old as time. Certainly never seen this one backfire.
SquareEnix / Final Fantasy XIV has quickly become the Nintendo of MMORPGs; A great game buried beneath a slew of archaic, out-of-touch policies.
But hey, hopefully we can have a few of the current popular QOL mods officially implemented within the next... 3 years?
Fantastic use of resources btw. Really fighting the good fight that matters. The vile chat bubble users.
