If they’re going to publicly give a hot take, people are entitled to respond to it. It’s not the first time I’ve seen this mentality though, the lewd modding community got upset when Asmongold interviewed a lewd modder on his stream last year because they all saw it as a threat to their survival. This game is no longer the niche community it once was, these people need to accept that. More players will only mean more parsers, for better or worse.

It's valid in a parse party to get kicked for a bad parse because they heavily rely on everyone performing very well to the point of skipping mechanics and on person performing poorly can easily ruin it but I don't really see poorly performing players join parse parties anyway.
It would not be okay in a party that simply aims to clear if the person's performance isn't the only thing that keeps them from clearing.
But I really struggle to remember a single case of when someone was kicked from a PF because of a bad parse. At least on Light DC people are more likely to silently grit their teeth even if they know this person is going to make it harder.

Enmity list doesn't work well for gauging dps though and it's easy to fall into the trap of blaming the wrong person unless it's something extremely obvious like the SAM being below the healers.
oh yeah sure. my point is that people who get kicked would be so bad that you gonna see it even without parser in one way or another.

Might want to actually listen to the video and not make huge assumptions from it's self admitted clickbait title then.

I wish I could parse but I don’t play on computers so I just have to rely on my rotation/priority research and hope it’s good enough.

You wouldn’t believe what kind of people join parties and press 1-3 buttons etc and have abysmal numbers though you can tell when things die extremely slow.
Chances are if you are running any extreme or savage fight in pf, someone has ACT open and will probably just upload their evening of playing at the end. From there you just need to search your character on fflogs. Especially helpful for a lot of improvement is putting those logs into xivanalysis and looking at the suggestions and data it throws out.

This is probably how a lot of expert dungeons and alliance raid logs happen btw: someone has ACT open for the day and bulk uploads everything at the end.

Casual players are far more toxic than the ones who actually want to improve and play the game. You give one piece of advice or mention that they're doing something wrong and they immediately start attacking you and kick you from the dungeon. Rarely do I see anyone with a competent playstyle be toxic towards others, its always the ones who are incompetent.

I did, and watched Asmons entire commentary on it too. Since we're giving out suggestions though I think you may want to re-read all my comments from the perspective of someone who doesn't like it when people use tools to be jerks to others and has seen it enough to know its a problem. Even if it has no solution.

Not watched Asmon's video and tbh I'm not interested in doing so.

I'm too busy being amused that you're trying to suggest a video about class/content design and skill ceiling woes somehow aligns with your attempts to paint all parse users as some kind of big evil and suggesting that that's the point of Misshapen Chair's video when it actually isn't.

His take isn't hot. It's understandable to say that people harassing others over parses and turning humans and Jobs to number statistics is bad. Especially when AddOns and harassment over it is not allowed by the developers themselves.

Also an interview is different from a reaction. I doubt Chair was asked for permission by Asmongold to watch the video because he'd undoubtedly say no.

Hmm so you are wrong, I don't paint all parse users as some kind of big evil, just the ones that are. That's probably just your take on it. That's why I suggested you re-read.

Aha ya you are right actually. I take it back that you suggested all parse users are evil.

    You actually just meant most.

All the idealists use all these arguments that it’s just a tool.. but if most people start using hammers to whack each other instead of building things then maybe it’s not a good tool to put in peoples hands.
