    Guy.

The current PvP mode hasn't existed for even four weeks yet, and it received a balance and bug fix patch at the end of week 2.

In what universe does that qualify as the devs taking their sweet time?

PvP has a lot of issues right now (though most are the fault of players, not SE),
but I'd love to know what game you're playing that makes it look like the devs are taking their sweet time with changes.

Considering they allowed WHM to straight up have a bug that turned them into the most obnoxiously hard to kill job in a match for 2 weeks without even disabling it if the bug was hard to fix through hotfixes, this of course being during the time where everyone was hyped and playing it all the time which only served to add to the overall frustration with the gamemode, yes, I do think that qualifies as them taking their sweet time.

Also, while I do believe there's a lot of player issues, I find it hard to believe that cheating and wintrading impact the vast majority of the player base, as opposed to their terrible balance(even after the "balance" patch that didn't really fix any core issues in job design) or RNG based matchmaking that makes ranking up more about getting lucky enough to get more meta jobs on your team than any actual skill, especially since there isn't much of a learning curve to begin with.

the Crystalline Conflict idea is great, the core systems behind it... Not so much.

Cure 2 bug wasn't game breaking, nor was it widely known, reported, and replicated in week 1. Seemed like a pretty quick fix to me, but that's obviously subjective.
We may very well find that SE won't give the new PvP mode the support it needs, but when the new mode's been out 3 weeks and it got a balance/bug fix patch in week 2,
I don't think there's a strong case to be made that they're already showing signs of it.

I wasn't even talking about cheating and win trading. The biggest issue with CC is that players are incredibly bad at it.
I win the majority of my games and I'm within spitting distance of top 100 on my DC, and still, almost every match is a cat-herding slog.
I would rather lose more matches if the trade off was that the matches were of higher quality.

Very few matches are decided by comp. In almost all cases, matches are decided by the ability of the players.
The state of job balance is wildly overblown. There are only a handful of jobs that really can't dramatically influence a match on their own,
and are stuck relying on RNG to give them comps and players that will support their choice.
The problem is that most players are so bad it doesn't matter what job they're playing.
