It's really weird that you only get the reward for your highest tier and the ones below aren't included.
So if you wanted gold framers kit you would need to intentionally stay at gold and not higher. I initially wanted the gold framer kit because it looks the best imo. Only grinded more because i expected it to be included.
Now i start at diamond tier so i would have to intentionally lose to get to gold and get what i want at the end of the next season.

This system actively discourages you from playing ranked pvp.

I'm in the same boat. I want the Silver kit, so now I'm sitting out 3-4 seasons in order to get it. Extremely counterintuitive and actively harms the game mode, I hope they change this in some way.

I think it's because, unlike almost every other cosmetic anything in the game, these framer's kits aren't meant to look good, or have options to fit whatever theme you're going for. They're purely designed to show off how high a rank you got in a given season, as such there's no need to hand out the lower rank kits to a player in a higher rank. Otherwise, why would the season number be included at all? Why not just make them season-generic and let players collect them?
Is there anyone who likes that kind of design? Anyone who's chomping at the bit to show off that they got Crystal in Season 1? Anyone who cares?

We can only hope. Just make it an achievement for reaching the rank. Frankly I'd prefer if the season number wasn't on each bit, but it's whatever I'd rather just have the border be accessible instead of me having to queue down for 3 seasons to get it.

I actually like the number that is there, it's like a memory for which season you participated in, how the pvp scene looked like back then etc. I wish The Feast had the same with the titles, season 6 for example was wholly different than season 20.

I got excited after learning we'd get a certain currency depending on our S1 ranking. I was expecting a new kind of wolf collars to purchase new exclusive glamour over the coming seasons.

In the end, the rewards were measly crystal tokens. NGL, I'm disappointed.
