    There's an obvious sound cue and animation. It is easily interrupted too, so if players can't notice that someone's using the elixir, then that's on them. Recuperate is instant and extremely powerful self healing with virtually no downsides.

    Guard does not need to be buffed, it needs to be nerfed to only affect LB's and the environmental hazards on CC maps, it's way too powerful as it is now. Or if anything I'd like to see more jobs have the ability to bypass or disable Guard due to how insanely powerful it is.
