I really hate the term '' degenerate '' it gets thrown at everything particularly if it's not for the typical dudebro or doesn't adhere to super conservative values.
Particularly if it has anything to do with sexuality, it usually comes across like it's some nofap grandma redditor who sees ankles and thinks society is coming to an end because of it who are saying it most of the time.
It's like '' oh your adventure plate is a pinup pose, that's degenerate '' peoples standards for it are so insanely low when I hear that term what I think of is some really extreme and bizarre stuff.

That aside, I really doubt the devs are designing anything for furries specifically.
Furries are such an insanely niche group bellow 1% they're just extremely overrepresented and loud online, I have a pretty hard time believing the devs went '' lets make a furry race '' lol.
At least in FFXIV, in WoW I do think it might be the case because there are concept artists working there that make furry art ( the one who designed the dragon race for example ).
I actually think this might be why the dragon races appearance has been received fairly negatively, they look less like a dragon race and more like a human wearing a dragon skinsuit it's very strange.
I wouldn't say that about Hrothgar tho.

And they aren't designing anything for furries, that is correct. Just as much as they're not designing anything for "the gays", a comment I heard when Male Viera was dropped. But you're missing the point of why furries were even brought up in the conversation to begin with. Many people are playing Hrothgar without belonging to the furry community, and are being called furries as a slur and are discriminated because of that. No one said the race was a furry race, in fact it's the exact opposite: Hrothgar are being cast out by the community as the furry race. Yet you'll find furries everywhere. As Hrothgar, as Miqo'te, as Roegadyn and yes, even Hyur.

Read what I said please. I said "furries are into the race", not that the race is for furries.

And I said it because people tend to shove that as a slur and make people feel bad for enjoying Hrothgar characters.
