I can only guess Minstrel is assuming WoL and friends wasted sometime getting Haurchefant to recover from his injuries so they arrived too late to stop Thordan due to that delay.

That would make sense, if it weren't the WoL who defeated Bismarck so that the Discount Elf Pope could get steal the key to Azys Lla. I wanna see Thordan vs. Bismarck.

I wonder what's the purpose of Bismarck summoning from an ascian point of view. The vanu vanu definitely didn't learn the summoning out of nowhere, especially when it has Azys Lla key in its stomach. How did it get there and why?

I wonder what's the purpose of Bismarck summoning from an ascian point of view. The vanu vanu definitely didn't learn the summoning out of nowhere, especially when it has Azys Lla key in its stomach. How did it get there and why?

I imagine they taught the Vanu Vanu to summon it a long time ago, and then nothing could really stop it. It probably ate an Allagan ruin inside of one of the sky islands, incidentally ingesting the key.

This I can see happening. The whole SB mainplot started because Illberd possessed Nidhogg's eyes, without which the whole SB and Omega questline would not have started, and ShB would play out differently with future Ironworks traveling back in time to save the source without shard-hopping but instead a: "Hey I'm from the future. You got to do X and Y to prevent Z from happening!"

I can see some people starting the meme: "Zephirin saved the universe!" which would be funny tbh xD

Edit: After more thinking... if the main timeline didn't play out as intended. Would we even have a Hydaelyn to begin with?? Venat wouldn't know anything about the future to begin with.

thats a scary thought. no time travel means no hydaelyn which means the 3rd sacrifice goes through which means we will never exist...... which means meteion eventually wins.

You can't see the description in game without having finished at minimum 6.0 so, if by that point you don't know Haurchefant's fate then maybe you shouldn't have skipped cutscenes.

Plus the description only says "a dear comrade" of which we've narratively had many between 2.0-6.0
