Quantity > Quality!
Quantity > Quality!
Didn't SE basically apologize for the many quests in the 2.x patches so that they shortened them?

it's one of the dev teams slides about the lessons they "apparantly" learnt from 1.0.
I say apparrently because many would say they should really go back and take another look at them.
Many of the games problems exist becuase they ignore or contradict those "lessons"

Why more hard content that already we have?
Isn't the Ultimate playerbase low? I mean, sorry because I can't explain better with my English skills, but the hardest content is only played by a small percentage of the player base, isn't it?
I see no point in adding more harder content.
About more quantity, well I miss when we had 2 dungeons per patch like in Stormblood, they dropped one dungeon in ShB because of Covid, but still one dungeon per patch in this expansion too :/ It becomes boring doing the expert roulette

Hard content has a low participation rate for numerous reasons. Why more hard content that already we have?

One of them being the gearing / reward system in this game is trash. Why clear savage for I600? gear when its essentially not even entry level for the new raid tier? In 6.2. players will be able to buy / craft i610? it's one of the reasons the sentiment that glamour is the endgame exists so prominently. because outsode of glamour value everything is just throwaway junk. and when its junk most players arent going to make an effort to get it.
Materia was also a good example of this. Where for 3 expansions the vast majority of players never slotted any materia in there gear because it was a waste of money when they were just going to throw it away next month. The only reason more players do now is because they have 100% chance to remove it. but even so. theres still plenty who never meld.
Stats are dull and uninteresting for the most part you can completely ignore everything and just equip whatever the highest item level is and you're golden.. This again makes gear dull and uninteresting outside of a glamour value.
Then they added unsynced so even the glamour value isnt a driving force to get players into hardeer content because players can just wait a bit and power through it easy mode..
It's the basic premise of what you get out of something must be worth what you invest into it.
So when what you get out is junk.. the effort you put in tends to be quite minimal..
This is the mistake a few games have made recently in the attempts to go harder or more old school. They've upped the difficulty but kept the trashy junk rewards.. and thus players say "nope not worth it."
Then you have fear mongering I guess.. where any mention of harder or more difficult content and people go major extreme like OMG stop trying to make it demon souls or whatever..
Also for players who have been around a while everything is far to "samey" Its not interesting or fresh just the same old spank it till its dead routine every new piece of content. gets boring fast.
Then we have the community. and the games massive push towards being a single player solo experience. this leads to another big reason players dont do the harder content. because getting a reliable group together is often harder than doing the content itself. because players dont bond or communicate or build relationships. it's all superficial. not 8 people working as a team but 8 people all just soloing the same boss.
There's loads of reasons players dont do "harder" content that aren't "because its too difficult"

The only thing about gearing in this game I dislike is that you only have one path for BiS, there really needs to be more ways.
I hope not. I wish they released more content than Lost Ark. The problem with Lost Ark was the type of content being released. They didn't expect people to go at it so hard when there were alternative progression paths. Square Enix needs to pull their finger out.
Lost Ark developers literally had to apologize to the playerbase for releasing content too quickly because players can't clear them quickly enough!
There are many who think that Lost Ark's content is merely grinding after grinding for that gear honing, but no! Lost Ark's raids in T3 are way meatier than anything FF14 has to offer.
Take a look at the latest legion raid in Lost Ark:
https://youtu.be/7GqyVwsCTCE
It has six floors, last a total of nearly an hour, and is more difficult than our current Savage tier.
And that's just **ONE** raid.
Will Square Enix try to match the cadence of Lost Ark? I doubt it! But in a fantasy world I wish:
- 6 Savage raid floors each tier, with a Savage+ challenge mode that requires BiS, giving players something to do once they get BiS, and this challenge mode gives additional materials for them to gear their alts (like twines) plus dyeable weapons and such!
- Hard mode 24-man raids every odd patch that is around Extreme difficulty and gives same ilvl gear as BiS with different substats.
- More content like Delubrum Savage and Baldesion, maybe at least twice each expansion!
- A full-fledged alternate progression system in the relic zones that fully rewards gearing - by giving the Delubrum Savage equivalent gear the same ilvl as the Savage gear, for example.
I sure wish Square Enix also didn't know the meaning of taking it easy!
