Yeah, blame the players for not enjoying pvp anymore. That always works out so well for everyone involved.I hated FFXIV PvP before and avoided it like the plague.
I've been playing CC virtually nonstop since it was added. I've forgotten how to play all my jobs in PvE.
I think the new PvP kits nailed the class fantasy for virtually all of the jobs in a way their PvE kits really can't.
The super short matches prevent the frustration of losing PvP engagements in, say, League or DotA 2,
and I like the quirky random comps and arena mechanics.
My feeling is that most people who are playing a lot of PvP but aren't enjoying it need to sort out their priorities.
Nothing about the basic gameplay or match quality changes when/if you hit Crystal tier.
If you get so obsessed with stars and portrait frames that you can't enjoy the experience of playing, you're wasting your time.
I will say I really enjoy matches that are even and not a complete steamroll on the part of one team or the other, but I find the vast majority of the matches I lose tend to be the latter where the other team wins the first engagement, then just never loses steam for one reason or another.
The fact that the PvP bots exist just makes it all the more frustrating because it's not always easy to tell if the other team is just that much better or if the bots are what's making them play so well...though I did run into someone blatantly using a CC ignoring hack today (And a perfect legend at that...).
Indeed there is, and unfortunately DRG has a slight window of vulnerability at the start of its LB animation that can be exploited by said add-ons.

If you're not too busy crying about being stuck in gold, try working on your reading comprehension.
Nothing you quoted can be summarized as blaming players for not enjoying PvP. There's nothing weird about not enjoying a game mode.
I said if you're smashing your face into PvP despite not enjoying it thinking it'll be dramatically different at higher ranks, you're wasting your time.
Folks who are treating CC like a mandatory grind are out of their minds. There's nothing to grind for. If you're not enjoying it, stop doing it.
If you think the new PvP is fun and just needs some improvement, it makes sense to provide feedback and to keep queuing up.
If you think the new PvP is dogshit, it makes sense to provide feedback and to stop queuing up.
If you think the new PvP is dogshit and you keep queuing relentlessly while you complain nonstop about how much you hate it, you need therapy.
A lot of jobs in general can get their LBs canceled due to there being a slight delay (Too small for human reactions to exploit consistently) between the LB gauge depleting and the LB actually happening and snapshotting the damage.
It's just particularly egregious in DRG's case because it's supposed to double as a defensive tool but can cause you to jump then just die in midair to the delay before becoming untargetable.
Hopefully it's something that can actually be addressed overall because SMN's LB seems completely instant and has no noticeable delay before its effects and thus can't be canceled through any means besides straight-up killing them.
It's a miserable experience
Even SMN's LB can be broken. The timeframe the server operates with is simply too long to prevent it. That's why many problems won't be fixed at all or better said, they can't be fixed with the current server/client.
I came into this with a general dislike of PvP, especially 3 sided affairs. I started with Frontline. I have yet to get into Rival Wings, though a friend has urged me to try it when it returns.
Since the update, I'm enjoying it more than I used to.
Carteneau in particular is less of a drag because you don't have all the tank griefing you used to have. I got 5 frontline wins in a day which was something I never thought I'd see. I've been lucky to see one a week.
SMN is my main, so I started off with that in the new update. It's been a fun kit to play with. Looking at healers, I found AST to be more enjoyable, especially in Crystal Conflict.
The biggest problem these days is the same as before, those people that don't really want to be there. They're just there for the xp. One person just couldn't stop talking about this "trash mode" and being "forced" to play for some reward (probably Garo mounts)
I'd like to see a change with frontline where you get more people that actually want to be there for the content and not just to get a massive xp boost. (Admittedly, that's what got me to look into it, but I would never play a mode I didn't like just for that.) Maybe they could add a ranked tier of some sort.
I like it at first but then after learning of OP jobs, cheats and hacks, it's no fun to play anymore knowing that you are at a disadvantage even without starting the fight. It was a good concept, nice try SE. When Garo is gone, I wonder what will happen to CC, will it be the feast again? Hope they improve and ban cheaters.
