Did you think this game was going to be special? That it would be different here just because this is XIV when it has been this way since the dawn of online pvp games. Hell since the dawn of competition wholesale.

so bcause others games does it , it means this game must do the same bcause we dont want changes? So its better to never change anything so we can have a wonderfull toxic pvp game?

If people are getting upset over someone emoting over their dead body I would be concerned if some of those same people decided to take a break and play Mortal Kombat...
All jokes aside, if we're about to start punishing players for this why not take the easier route and remove the ability to emote altogether?
this is the best arguement all together, just remove emoting from pvp that way GM resources can be used in better placesIf people are getting upset over someone emoting over their dead body I would be concerned if some of those same people decided to take a break and play Mortal Kombat...

you can't suspend people in PVP for emoting if they can't emote and that solves the whole issue I have
It has nothing to do with it being a game, i said its a competitive nature thing. People are toxic to opposing teams in irl PROFESSIONAL sports. This is a human nature thing you are trying to solve.
Try taunting like that in a fencing match and see how quickly you get kicked out of the competition.Sports are a re-enactment of war with rules. While death threats are unaccetable, its perfectly fine in most sports across the world to taunt your opponent, especially in blood sports. We are fighting with weapons and killing one another and yet taunting is too much? Please.
I swear, too many people actually believe the junk they see on TV with regard to so-called 'blood sports'.
I like how people like this act as if this community isn’t toxic. If anything this game is just as bad as others with its toxic positivity. Anytime some critique the game they’re met with vile posts similar to the ones youve been making with personal attacks, or in some cases people even send death threats.

How to cooperate with players without the possibility to use chat or play with your friends ?
Now, people who try hard because they want to win every time will start to report people who play normally just because they are losing and they think the others are not " doing their best " ... this is soo bad that it actually got me here on the forums to complain about it.
Thanks Yoshi-P for clarifying the situation but the approach is stupid and excessive.

The weirdest part of your post is that the devs are doing something to try and make it special. They just clarified their policy on toxic behavior, and will punish people for the bad sportsmanship that other game companies just let in to their titles (and not because it's "okay to be toxic"; they let it in because keeping it out costs money that they want to give to shareholders and corporate officers). Like, you're not pushing back against some suggestion made by a player. You're pushing back against planned actions that the devs announced.
So to answer your question: yes. At least, people hoped it would be special. And it's nice to see those hopes weren't in vain.
It's almost as if FFXIV has built it's brand partly on not being a festering cesspool of anger like the rest of the internet. If a thing is bad, then it's bad regardless of if other people are doing it.
