Was "other games do it" really the best argument you could come up with?taunting your opponent with emotes has always been part of the PVP game spirit
fortnite has a full catalogue of emotes dedicated just for taunting
TF2 gives you an achievement for providing your opponent with a freezecam of you taunting over them
Darksouls has gestures intended for taunting enemy players
if you're going after people for some victory dance in pvp then go for streamers too since they've done worse
Did you think this game was going to be special? That it would be different here just because this is XIV when it has been this way since the dawn of online pvp games. Hell since the dawn of competition wholesale.

so bcause others games does it , it means this game must do the same bcause we dont want changes? So its better to never change anything so we can have a wonderfull toxic pvp game?
It has nothing to do with it being a game, i said its a competitive nature thing. People are toxic to opposing teams in irl PROFESSIONAL sports. This is a human nature thing you are trying to solve.

The weirdest part of your post is that the devs are doing something to try and make it special. They just clarified their policy on toxic behavior, and will punish people for the bad sportsmanship that other game companies just let in to their titles (and not because it's "okay to be toxic"; they let it in because keeping it out costs money that they want to give to shareholders and corporate officers). Like, you're not pushing back against some suggestion made by a player. You're pushing back against planned actions that the devs announced.
So to answer your question: yes. At least, people hoped it would be special. And it's nice to see those hopes weren't in vain.
