All jokes aside, if we're about to start punishing players for this why not take the easier route and remove the ability to emote altogether?

at this point its the devs way of saying if your going to act like children then be treated like children ..

im sure this is directed not at the taunting of opponent as such but the scum who directly harass and taunt them outside of the pvp match there are some twisted f..ks out there that ruin it for everyone !

im not a fan of pvp in general but i do like the new pvp mode but i yell at the screen.. i dont say nothing in chat and once the match is over its over on to the next !!

People are very emotional in pvp ranked, so if they lose they get really salty because of things not going the way they want.

I can agree that going after spammers is a littlebit to far even in my book, but tbh I think it's just a way of them trying to manage triggered people which is not going to work.

Triggered people are triggered, they don't look at things in a rational way nor is their behaviour, they want to let loose some steam and this is the way they do it.
I am not saying it's right, I agree that it's annoying and I even stopped my in-game sound and just listened to music while I was ranking up just because of this.

But this is not going to work, I don't see people perma banned for this and even the small percentage that is getting a warning is just a very small percentage of players that actually do it.
Resources would be better spend going after scripters and bot abusers that are currently all over the place.

Looks good to me, PvP is not an excuse for people to be toxic, you dont have to mock the player you just killed, is unnecessary and only to boost your ego.

Brings nothing positive to the game, so I will say good job to the dev team for this one.
