I play with people all over the world. Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Switzerland, and even Israel... We enjoy this diversity, and all speak English...
So I'm gonna second Jynx on this one

Third here, I also dislike the idea of separate people by region. it is better resource-wise to have Asian play NA sleep, and NA play when Asian sleep in one whole server, instead of separate them up, and have a ghost town when it is region sleep time.

And why both couldn't be compatible? We could have NA server and International servers. Then YOU decide which one you want. But then if you notice that the INT server have no JP player on it for example, then maybe it means that while YOU wanted diversity, others did not?
It's nice to say "I want diversity" but what about the rest of the community?
As for the time argument like "I want to be able to play at any time", the average player working 9 to 5 couldn't care less about being able to play at any time. There is really a minority of players who need that. It works fine in other games, I played on regional servers for over 10 years now in different games, never had much issue, sure when I decide to pull an all-nighter the server will be rather empty during 2am~8am, but that's rare. (and it can be pleasant too, free EXP camp etc :d)
Had issues on XI, because being in EU on a server where the EU community was small, was really hard. Had to Salvage at 2am etc. I would often sleep after going back home to be able to wake up in the middle of the night and attend events at NA time. Luckily I had events like Dynamis during EU prime.
Personally I like choice over anything. If players can be given the choice between International/Regional, then I am all for it. If it's regional only, then no. I would rather stick to International and have only "recommended server" like we do have now for Ragnarok.
You like diversity? Then start liking different opinions of people who surrounds you may have, rather than stick to one choice, open up to multiple choices.

Why do people want to play an international MMO but want to play on "NA/EU servers" only? There's plenty of NA based MMOs out there that excludes everyone but NA/EU players from playing on their servers. And why both couldn't be compatible? We could have NA server and International servers. Then YOU decide which one you want. But then if you notice that the INT server have no JP player on it for example, then maybe it means that while YOU wanted diversity, others did not?

What I don't get is why people think segregating players will suddenly solve all issues, all it'll do is create more issues in the long run. For example NA people tend to run on EST for raids for whatever unholy reason, which means unless you find a PST or CST based shell, it's not like you suddenly have more people to play with, you'll essentially have less people to play with.
In XI and XIV I've actually played with more European, Greek, Spanish, Chinese and Japanese players than I did American players because they tend to want to run at 5pm - 9pm est, times I'm usually at work.
